That GTO is nicest I've seen

Have I missed something here, which GTO?

If you're on about the Bobsters GT-R then yeah that is a nice piece of kit! LOL :D

But then it would be, I've seen this guy drive around in a Taliban Wagon with a Scalextric in the back, side exhaust and pace car lights to boot...Top BANANA!

Oh OK cheers mate, but didn't see it! I apologise! LOL :D

Rare that! ;) Me apologising etc. ;)

I 100% agree with you there err Rich.I know enough abought tunning from my old mini, escort days to realise what you read is not always fact.Example look at the Lotus twin cam :hurl: When id finnished completely rebuilding my MK1 Mexico i was offerd a twin cam.Fooking biggest mistake of my life.Only becouse people where raving about them. There was me a apprentice mechanic on £35.00 a week trying to build a decent car when Joe Bloggs down the road who owned a garage was changing engines every week and thinking nothing of it,and saying how fooking great they where.

The internrt is a great place where you can get mmuch more information, much more choice and a competetive arena for trade, where as before all we had was the weekly mag wich we took as gospal.

Steve,

Are you the older guy, 50+ that drives around in the black 300?

Just thinking that I might have seen you at Tesco in the Junction at some point! LOL :D

No im the one with the burnt orange SWB with the Bomex kit and no spoiler.

Any way you cheeky fooker im 44 and i do live by Tescos.LOL

    Ermmmmm!! No bud!

Karl, Its how you drive, I remember a few weeks back going round the outside of you in my old Rover 620i Auto

I could go on all night basically!!

Don't forget a FORD GT40,Viper,Lambo and some other thing and that was on a 1.5mile staright in one go :bow:That why i want a zed but i'm only aloud a N/A till i'm all grown up . But after all thats said and done I believe it's the person behind the wheel at the end of the day. Look's wise the zed win's hands down FFS alot of people think the red one's are Ferrari but the skyline may out handle a zed and power to but come on some of them look like ford cortinas  Well there's my 2 pence worth. Oh why do i fell a slap coming on

Why do so many people junk the twin turbos on a Soup;)

because sequential setup is shite

i woulndt get out of bed for less than 2 anyway :D

Go for it, you know it makes sence!!

Gee up Bob

I've already got a quick saloon car

I simpley think that Skylarks are over rated. These days there is that much out there that will give it a good kicking and look a lot better.

Audi S6R = 440BHP strait out of the box and highly tunable. 600+ BHP at a fraction it would cost to get skylark to that power

Audi S8R = 460BHP

VW WR8T = 460BHP out the box and under £40K new

Volvo S40T5R sport = 440BHP 4x4 unbelievable handling looks ace and under £30K new and remember those T5 Factory 850's were running 700BHP so plenty of scope there

the list goes on as does time. Even though I think the new Skyline coming out in 07 looks the real deal I don't think it will ever catch up to the Germans again or the Swedes even. Lets face it if you really want a powerful motor you have to look at British engine builders.

Renault F1 engine, Honda F1 enginge, Toyota F1 engine infact every engine in the F1 grid bare the BMW are all built in the UK

No the Skyline is a fashion Icon just the same as Burbury or Channel and as qiuck as they can become thet don't float my boat.

sequential setup is not shite, there is a tt mk4 supra in usa running 11.1 @124mph on sset up (with drags) and 2 mk4 in uk running 11.8's with drag also with stock turbo's 12.1 done with street tyres, the main reason skyline and supra owners go for big singles it is cheaper to maintain believe it or not and less heat produced by the bigger tubbys actually mean usually extented lifetime for engine turbo's etc (also less psi needed to produde big power) and efficiency i.e fuel comsumption etc because you can stay out of turbo, chunk some impressive kills there on your list many of the cars there listed i'm guessing (supras and skyline must have been fairly bogo on the mods but still great kills non the less, i.e supras will do 13.0 with just one de-cat removed with a good driver) but agree it does depend on the driver ;)

Some fair points there Mark, the Audi`s you have used as examples are good ones, they are awsome cars and the Wolf in Sheeps Clothing!

Cars at the end of the day are all personal taste, i like the Skyline so bought one, i loved the Z i had and thats why i bought one, and would have another.

My next car will either be a DB7 or the new Range Rover, completley different cars but i like them both.

There are plenty of cars out there that will give the Skyline a run for it`s money because technology has moved on, in it`s day (5-10 yrs ago) the Skyline had all the toys and now plenty of cars are having them as standard.

Like i said, cars are personal choice, you love your z`s (as i do)but prefer the Skyline cos it suits my driving needs.
