hey,

not really a question, i just have noone to talk (japanese women are even more perplexing than the normal kind) to so i thought i would do some random posting. i just moved to japan for a couple of years (tokyo.. i gave my old z31 to my dad http://homepage.ntlworld.com/tirion/z31.JPG). z32s and insurance are very cheap here, but i am completely held back by the parking issue (you have to rent a car park space... 200 quid a month at least).

so, maybe i should save up and get a nice z32, or a crappy gtr, to import back home when i leave? or i could just rent a car here somehow at the weekends when i feel like escaping this manic place? or maybe i should spend all my money on alcohol and alpine climbing equipment, and hope one of the two kills me.

Sounds good. Just remember, if you want to import it tax free then you'll have to have owned it for at least six months in Japan.

Blimey. Tax Free and you get to choose what car and import it. not look at a silly picture. Agg

I'll give you the money to get a car for me for 6mths and then import it for me! How much for the latest Zed?! Dave

Let's just say their families do not go without ;)

To be honest i am not sure of the average price... i have a friend who goes to car auctions and he is going to check some out for me. i have seen a few examples, like this one i particularly like...

http://www.cineaction.co.jp/japanese_used_cars/stk/v_detail.cgi?did=10015483

which is just over 3k pounds...

i am really tempted.. i am gonna go have a look.

I have found a way to get free parking in tokyo (I joined the university rally club and they have a car park.. hurrah)

they also have some strange things... i mean, what the hell is this??? 1999?

also someone offered to sell me a Silvia 14... its been all tuned up, which would be nice, but how reliable???

so if anyone wants me to drive that GC32 thing and import it for them, i would be willing :P

actually i have been thinking about this a bit. the captain of the Rally club runs a used car business with his dad, so as i said he has access to all the auctions. if anyone is seriously interested about importing a Z i can talk to him about how to go about it.

i am employed as a researcher so officially i am not allowed to make money by any other means cause i dont pay tax (haha), but i would be willing to help out or do it privately
