Why o Why are your looking at knackered rubbish when there are loads of perfectly useable cars for sale in this country and still more to come from Japan??

hmm, your decision at the end of the day, if its otherwise in good condition I dont see why not, you could go straight into the forged internals and big tubs route and have a really cheap very fast car..

ive been looking at the prices and there seems to be some dogs about. The car in particular is very clean, low miles and has lots of service history, the turbos has just been reconditioned. can sum1 also tell me how you put a picture into your thread

didnt realise you had to pay (pardon my ignorance or arrogance, not sure which one)

if the bearings are knackered due to oil starvation,or foreign material then it could be a good buy as the rod bearings can be done without engine removal,at the same time,if you discover the bearing has spun on the crank then, the job will be far more time consuming and expensive, although if due to oil starvation who knows what else is up,seized turbos etc etc

walk away and find a cared well looked after example

I agree with Greg. Unless money is no option go ahead but then you wouldnt be looking at dogs. Mate is better to save and get a mint one than one you have to play around with. Yes, they all have hidden spooks but start on a positive. If you are mechanicaly minded it helps, cus as i said it can end up a money pit.

Get a mint one then the other will end up breaking his and you can get the leather LOL

Just a thought, there is a georgeous pearl white n/a for sale on the forum a the moment.

If you start out with n/a's you get familiar with the working of the cars with a little less worry. That's what i did 5 years ago and now i've got a tt but a lot more experience.

The problem at the moment is that used and abused tt's are changing hands very quickly and people who would otherwise have come to love the car, they are being put off by major problems caused by people who buy them and sell them on without looking after them properly.

And by the way the stock 222bhp of the n/a is nothing to be sniffed at.

LOL you almost sound like you spent the day doing one

And if money is an option, your looking to get into a rather expensive habit! ;)
