I have both a Diablo and a calibra!!! 96 Diablo VT in blue and 94 Calibra in white, owned the calibra from new, only 2.0 8v so relly crap performance. But a 1 owner Calibra from new is quite rare these days!! ZX is a million times the car the calibra of any engine size, will ever be.

Wouldn't be quite so quick to write the Calibra off. Whilst it's a chav's fav. If you do the right things, it's not that difficult to see 300bhp from a Calibra turbo......providing the transfer box is in good shape.

I know they could be tuned to higher bhp but I was talking about general appearance and interior, ride etc. The Z is much better quality that way. But I suppose there was a big difference in price between the both when new as well, which you hope would justify why the Z is better.

Yeah, obviously the zed is better. He was asking which car we would use to make a replica of a zed. Wouldnt be a very good idea to use a better car in the first place. Same way mr2s are used to make replica 355s. They will never be as good, but provide the best starting point.

 

So for that purpose, a calibra would probably be the best bet. Or a pontiac of some sort.

Yeah I like the Rover coupe, when I was 19 I bought one as it was the closest thing to a ZX I could afford to get at that time. But it was a 216 coupe. All about the look for me then though!!

Also agree about the Z being similar to the Diablo, The facelifted version of my Diablo actually uses 300ZX Headlights. I'll post a photos in a few min.s
