Looks like I have a small leak from my petrol tank, using the SEARCH I have found that its happened on a few UK cars, where the straps hold the tank.

Does anyone know how much these are new? or should I just find a second jap tank? and is it the same?

Thanks

Barry.

Jap tank is the same. You sure it's the bottom of the tank and not the filler neck ?

Got a tank and straps from a Jap car if you want it, open to reasonable offers!!

Thanks Andy for confirming that, I hadnt noticed it, but while it was up in the air, having the gearbox done, the mechanic pointed it out, its where the strap comes under the tank. Might be worth me replacing the neck at the same time.

Been there done that, you can almost def say its the neck of the tank.if its uk car, i took mine off thinking it was tank but it wasnt but the neck was shot to bits . main dealer dont stock these can get hold of but want over £400plus the dreded and thats not including the feed pipe and screws ect.you can pick one second hand jap one no rust about £100.

It was leaking from where the support straps make contact under the tank. In the end I sourced a second hand tank from a jap car. Think new they were 300-500 pounds.
