Just some info I thought you guys might be interested in.
Noticed on my service history booklet on Tuesday that my car has been re-registered at some point. Reg differs from the at new reg.
I also wanted to try and confirm that the car hasn't been clocked. I have some old HPI reports in the history which don't raise alarm but I know how slippery the traders can be at recreating documentation or removing receipts etc. from a cars history.
I got in touch with the previous owner but spoke to the guys Dad who to be honest was a miserable fucking Manc!!! Nothing new there then! Sorry if any of you lot are born and raised in Manc Land but my experiences with most people from Madchester is the majority are right miserable bastards!
He told me his son wasn't in from work until about 8pm so I left my number but no phone call.
So I rang DVLA and asked them if they could tell me why the reg was different. Cherished transfer which is not initally anything to worry about. My Soup had a private plate on when I viewed it but the owner wanted the plate back on selling the car. So you get a stamp on the MOT stating the new reg from DVLA.
Very helpful woman at Swansea told me that if you send in a funfer(5 squid) to this address...

stating the make, model, reg and confirming that you are the registered keeper with your address etc. You can receive all the known info from them about your vehicle since the day it was born! Good effort!
So I'm sending off for it. Will let you know when I get it how comprehensive it is. Can't be a bad thing if it is good history and must bolster your value and chances of selling should that sad day ever come.
