At the last Committee meeting we discussed the issue of “Drivel posts and Nonsense polls” on the Club’s forums and what to do about them. There has been an upsurge in the volume of these types of posts which have had the effect of cluttering up the forums and making it frustrating for our members to use the forums. Members have also complained about the standard of postings both in their content and in their style. The majority of these postings appear to come from the “younger” elements of the Club or simply people who don’t own Zs. The Committee felt that these posts and polls are damaging the profile and spirit of the Club to both subscribed members and that of potential new members visiting the forums.

 

The Club’s AUP is there to support you in your roles as moderators and for members to know what the forum's rules and guidelines are. The AUP will be updated to deal with “Drivel posts and Nonsense polls” and your input is welcome as to what ammendments and changes need to be made.

 

In the meantime would you close off “Drivel posts and Nonsense polls” with an appropriate comment. Clearly this is a subjective decision for now so if in doubt ask for support if you want it.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The above post is in the Committee/ mods forum,now although I dont feel it is my job to explain whats going on as I am the TLO I think its only manners to do so as the club Secretary is away on holiday until the weekend.

Members and traders have complained about Drivel posts.

I think it should be put to a vote. The commitee do a fine job no doubt but the paying members should have a say in this matter and maybe a poll introduced in the members only section if they should be banned or not. OK clean it up but not ban it? The poll should also be an open poll so as to stop stupidity. After all this is a club aswell? and we do pay for that privilege.

p.s on the thread subject - i agree with the comitee - i dont mind a bit of drunken drivel now and again but it does seem to be becomming the norm around here.

i personally dont have a prob with the drivel and shite posts, its up to the paid members what they wanna post

 

i post crap at times especially when drunk, but im also helpful whan i can be and welcome new members, (registered or subscribed) with open arms

 

seems to me that if some of the more, older and respectfull members of the forum post any junk threads everyone joins in and thinks its jolly, but if someone like z evo guy or astrasuck posts it it is frowned upon

 

maybe we COULD post more in the private sections, but it shouldnt be a neccesity to do so, and also ive seen a number of new members paying their subs (to keep the club running) on the fact that this is a better site than others because it doesnt just talk shop

 

these are my own opinions, they are not directed at anyone in particular, and any names used are for examples only.

 

if you have any complaints or praises for what i have said please p.m me, as i dont want to turn into a debate, that in six pages time has turned into a slagging match

I agree with some of the things people say here but as a relativly new member (6 Months) i watched and listened for most of that and liked most of what i saw and read. I paid my money and decided to stay with the club as it was. If its going to turn into a controled forum by a few people who are democraticly selected ! maybee things need to be put out to the paid up members as a poll and then make majour decisions ;)

I also am not looking to get into a slanging match over whos right or wrong, This is my oppinion only.

Goverments are voted for.

What are Moderators?

 

Moderators are here to monitor and if necessary edit, move, lock or delete posts in order to protect the short and long term good of the 300ZX.CO.UK club. The Moderators are active members of the club and give up their own time on a voluntary basis to support the forum. Moderators follow a strict set of guidelines which place the interests of the 300ZX.CO.UK club as the primary focus.

 

When will a thread be moved?

 

* When the thread clearly belong in another forum

* When the topic moves onto a subject more appropriate to another forum.

* A thread will be moved to the Fight Club forum where it’s deemed too “silly” for other forums.

would it not be possible for a drivel section on the forum that way anyone who does want to post and read there can and those who dont can just post in the other sections?
