Hi all,

I've just recharged the battery in me ZX and taken it for a spank down the road. I hardly use it these days and the Cat warning light came on when booting down a dual carriage way. The car feels like it's holding back so I guess it needs a good drive and a service. Is there any precautions I can take to stop it doing this? I just don't get the time to use it nowadays and am holding it for a sale to a friend. Perhaps new plugs or something?

Thanks in advance.

Big disclaimer: I'm no expert. However... disregarding the problem with the cat for a second, which I suppose may be related in some way anyway (anyone?). If the car's a TT and feels like it's holding back it may be running in safety boost. Just a thought. Somebody who actually knows something will probably post in a bit so don't worry.

Boost is going all the way. I've had a turbo failure which felt similiar but the gauge only went to half way. I'm hoping it's nothing serious and giving it a few good runs will sort it out.

been loads of info posted if you search - cat warning light is generally unburnt fuel, so check spark plugs, PTU etc

Yeah. It's running much better now so I'll just use it this week and change the plugs to be sure. Thanks for all your help.
