His doctors reckon his hours are numbered...

Although he made his own choices..he was a hell of a player...

Still sad to see someone suffer. :(

A legend without a doubt. There are plenty of dead people who have done worse than him and have legend status. I'm not a Man Utd fan but he has made hes mark.

IMHO (footy skills aside)....he will be best remembered for these quotes

I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered.

......

I used to go missing a lot...Miss Canada, Miss United Kingdom, Miss World.

  Top bloke!!

what a dude...lol

Well death is final and thats it but when you have had an innings like george then I spose it must be some concellation?

Yeah, but the world will still be a poorer place without him...

what *****x........he played football nothing more nothing less and he had more chances than most if it was any other alchy nobody would give a shit so what makes him so special......had he done what every other person who gets a second chance would have done he wouldnt be in the state he's in now.............not a popular opinion but mine anyway

I agree, tooley. He completely wasted a donor liver which could have gone to someone more deserving who would've looked after themselves.

I agree, but he is part of our soccer history and as a damn fine player he will be missed. I cannot comment on his personal life as I did not know the man but a soccer genius nonetheless.

Couldnt agree more, i had a kidney transplant in 1982

and you realize what lifes about but he is just a waster IMHO

What he said

BUT, I would never wish anyone dead

He has an addictive personality - a weakness. Football skills were amazing, but need to be put into perspective (ie. how important is football ?). He provided a lot of entertainment. No doubt he inspired many. At least he was really good at at least 1 thing !

This may be a bit un-popular for people who like the old alcky but I am fed up with the news Top story every day with a progrss repot on if he is getting better.

This IMHO is not news.....just let the Pr*t die from his self inflickted liver dammage.

did you know he gave up playing footy at the age of 27 same as me ,bet he wasnt banned for 3 years

I think he got a lifetime ban from BUPA....... :D

I wouldnt go as far as to say the world will be a poorer place without george best. But yes I am sure he will be sadly missed. Up until recently he hadnt been heard of for ages. As I said before he has had a good run.

When he's gone I won't feel sorry for him, he's lived an amazing life and we reap what we sew. It'll be his family that I feel sorry for. Especially his grand children who will miss out on having a legendary granddad :( .

will be pleased when the fool is gone not that i would wish anyone dead but ffs he was given a second chance and fuked it up

i think he was a great player but was his own worst enermy. he wasted all the help and donners given to him. i wish he would pull through but doubt it and if he did it wouldn't be long before he's back where he is now. such a shame

I agree, he's a good footballer, but he's had his hayday and now he's abused his body so much its unreal!

I feel for his family, but he inflicted this upon himself.

no rip from me that liver could have gone to a better person imho
Or to a person who would respect the chance they'd been given.
