Hi, can anyone tell me whether the TD05-16G Turbo is water + oil cooled or oil cooled only?

Cheers,

Shaun

Featured Replies

Greddy turbos are known as oil cooled only but many types are also available with oil & water cooling.

I haven't had an exact answer to that question, only that they're TD05- ???

They have been rebuilt in the last 12 months though.

there must be some plate on it to give you a clue to what model it is?

from what i have been told it "sounds" and i may be wrong but sounds like the td04-15g turbos as they bolt onto oem manifolds and are internally wastegated and the td05's are external wastegated

could be wrong and wouldnt be the first time lol

Mike

my understanding as well

TD 04 internal wastergates

TD05 and 06 external wategates

alex

it also rings true as greddy do a bolt on kit for the zed which is the td04 so i think its safe to say thats what they are unless some crazy jap has made another model fit the car?? you really need to get under the car and get plate read

I think you might be right there guys.

This site http://www.stealth316.com/2-3s-compflowmaps.htm gives good information on that model of turbo.

I'm wondering what I can reliably run them at pressure wise & what kind of power it'll deliver. It's currently running about 15psi giving 400bhp.

I was told 22psi but that seems too high judging by those graphs.

well was the 400 bhp at the wheels or at the fly? if its at the wheels then i recon your close to their lmits maybe another 20-30 bhp more maybe more but not much more, i wouldnt run them more than 1.2 bar from them graphs or 17.5 psi

its all guess work at the moment but speak to ryan as he;s seen them

Not quite sure whether it's at the fly or wheels, Karl didn't seem to know for sure. I'll ask Ryan when I see him next.

Cheers,

Shaun

yes the graph from owen developments just stated 400 at 15 psi and i was informed they could reach 25 psi with the correct additional mods at time i bought them. So 22 psi which u will have them mapped for should be no probs, but double check with ryan as obviously he and john d will be mappin it.

feck!!!! a 20g wheel in a TD05 body

dont put yourself down mate you cant know everything

so you can get the td05 with internal wastegates so shows how much we know lol

not from greddy direct, looks like mitzi offer quite a few options

dont mitsubishi make all the td-05's and then greddy re-work them and add their name ??

dont mitsubishi make all the td-05's and then greddy re-work them and add their name ??

yup

yep td05 is a mitsubishi turbo - you can get a greddy variant - you can also get a pentroof variant which is what i have.

much like a hks turbo is a reworked garrett and i beleive pe use kkk turbos - but i might be corrected with that one

alex
