i have 91 import auto box. on the centre consul left of the clock is a switch, marked auto one side. man on the other... tried both possitions, but nothing seems to happen... looked at the rear of the switch, and it seems to be connected up to something ?

any one got idears to what this is ?

try switching with the lights on.

Is it a switch for the parking mast thing that comes up out of the front bumper, that you find on the odd jap car???!!!!

ive got one of those parking ariel things on mine.. even though its knackered, the switch for it is in the same position you describe but it isnt labled auto/ manual.

that'll be it then... parking mast thingy. I thought it was an ariel that some one had put on ???

so how should the parking thingy work then ? as I guess mine dont !!!

not too sure how it should work, as mine dont, and apparently its quite common for them to break . allegedly there is some sort of flimsey plastic linkage that is prone to breaking but apparently its a ball ache to fix so on alot of cars it gets left. i think the idea is when u push the button the mast type thing goes up so u can see the corner of the car. i will fix it one day,, its just that i can't be arsed looking at it.
