Just sticking this thread up to give us a start for 2006.

I have a few ideas for 2006 and just wanna see what you guys think of them. Please add any ideas you have too.

I am going to start a regular monthly meet for 2006. Probably rotate through 2 or 3 different locations to keep everyone happy. This will definately happen, will be either every month or every 2 months depending on interest.

First one will be January

Hopefully the Scotland/NE/NW joint meet will become a regular event. Every 6 months maybe. This should make a really good summer event.

I will also be booking regular slots at shows in Scotland for 2006. I really need enough interest for these though. Crail, Fast and Modified, Knockhill, Classic and performance shows etc etc

Convoys to the big shows down south will also be organised. TOTB, JAE, Japshow, 300zx.co.uk national event etc etc. Even if we can get a few zeds for each event, i'll organise convoys etc

I would like to try and get a rolling road day booked for the first half of next year. Ive tried this a few times before, but they fell through due to lack of interest. Im pretty hopeful enough peeps will be up for this next time though.

Dastek and Star performance will be easy locations. Any other suggestions welcome.

Any opinions guys?

Hi mate,

Hopefully will be back in a Zed soon ! :hyper: (48 hours ?)

Will try to attend whatever I can, work and finances allowing.

Alan....

Good call...Will come if not working as this is a big prob for me.

Neil, you're not in Scotland lol :slap:

im up for all of the above, def want to do a rolling road as im not sure what power im puting out now after my recent mods. and doing a few shows sounds mint

Scotty,

Monthly meet sounds like a good ideas but I suspect that you will not get enough interest for a monthly meet. I know the sxoc boys have a monthly meet and they are usually well attended so might be worthwhile to combine the 2 if they were willing(after all were all nissan brothers!!!).

Hi Scott, I will try to join in as often as possible. It looks like I need to get my Z up to snuff after seeing some of the cars at the Jedburgh meet.

We have the Biggar Classic Car Show late August.ish. For a small town its very well attended, 300 cars, bikes, tractors. Mostly old stuff but its good day out. They have a 30 mile timed run in the morning around Tinto Hill, old farts in 1950's cars but it would be fun to rip around the course in a couple of Z's. Then back to the rally for a rat burger and chips. Good fun on a sunny day but shite if it rains. It may be worth concidering for a Z meet.

Definately john! If you could send me a bit more details, ill get it organised. :D

Hopefully I will get a bit more free time next year, too much happened this year to enjoy my first full year of 300 ownership, hopefully get to a few more meets

defiantely JAE next year, Soooooo wanted to be there this year but it wasnt to be!! maybey we can start to plan for a Scottish contingent convoy early in the new year.

On a more local setting I think the monthly meet would be too much given the distance some of the guys would have to travel, but a 2 month or even a quarterly meet would be pretty good.

Fling in a couple of good runs, and even a weekend away b&b or camping. We've got some of the best driving roads in the country ( especially up north) , without the same amount of spy boxes at the side of the road as our buddies south of the border. so why not make use of them.

Just make sure we comprimise between good roads, great scenery and towns with lots of pubs.

Ah well, we managed a better turn out for the Jedburgh run. 5 in total. I'm pretty sure it will just get better next year. ;)

I attended the classic car show at Chatlerhault Country Park in Hamilton this year yet again.

2 fields on show, 1 for classics and 1 for the Max Power lads.

The guy I sold my last Zed too, took it to the classic field. Only Zed there. Some of the looks and attention it got was incredible.

Would be good with a few Zeds as they can organise a club stand.

Also a lot of old British, American, Harleys etc etc as well.

Well organised and again, if the weather holds, it is a good show.

See photo of the show field for classics a few years ago. This years show was almost double that size !!

Normally the 2nd or 3rd week in August.

Dont know if its too early to enquire about next years, but they will probably put your details on file. If organising a club stand or single entries, mind and get it for the classic field and not the Maxpower field ! :nono:

Hi Alan,is that the one that used to be at Calderglen Country Park?

Ron

Hi Scott, will try to make most meets this year, bought my first N/A Z in August and couldn't get to any for working but hopefully will make it to some this year,if not all of them.

For an idea of venues i used to own a Mk1 Mr2 car and had a lot done to it,took it to Culzean Classic Car Show and had it on a stand, good day out and usually happens on the first Sunday in August if interested,it was mostly Classics when i first went in 93 but more modern sports cars are going now as well and its a good turn out, sound like the biggar event is similar? As for details well i missed last years event for the first time in 11 years but i heard that they might be moving it from Culzean Castle, which is on the West Coast,South of Ayr to Eglinton Country Park in Irvine?I would need to check that though?

Was told that there was one red Twin Turbo there, not in a stand and it got loads of attention and got me thinkin it would be good to see more Zeds there?Just an idea? :)

Ron

Sounds good bud. Yeah, we really have to try to get the zed displayed at as much shows as possible.

I've got a busy couple of weeks ahead of me but after that, i'll start getting things organised.

Keep the ideas coming guys...
