Anyone imported a car through a specialist?

Hi folks,

Still patiently looking for a car and was wondering if anyone has experience of ordering a car to their specification from Japan. Also, I've been thinking about using a company called NEWERA http://www.neweraimports.com/ to do it, they say they have lots of happy customers. Anyone know anything of 'em?

Gotta run,

-Stu

I have spoken to Miguel from newera and he is perhaps the most helpfull business man, send him an e-mail with all questions you want answered and he will reply quickly (he is in japan so 9 hours ahead)

I am considering getting a Z from Japan as they are often in better condition,

Check out the insurance for a jap import. it is generally higher than Uk spec. Not a showstopper tho - just so long as you know. I have a jap import - it's been triffic!

Steve E imported his second Z and saved a small fortune. It's a bit of hassle and takes a while but if you've got the patience then there's gains to be made. You do take a risk - but not much difference from buying privately over here. In fact, IMHO, safer.

Drop Steve a line for more info (search for Steve E on here or sell500hp on tt.net). He's a very helpful guy.

Hi Peeps,

I have just set up a company to import to order and can supply any JAP car alot cheaper than most greedy importers.

There are about 9 auctions a week, and loads of 300ZX in any flavour available.

Leigh.

Leigh you got mail....

Cool, good luck Leigh.

Coogs, The best insurance quote i've had (28 yrs with 3NCB) is around £800 for a UK model (from Firebond) and £850 from A-plan for an import - which I reckon is pretty resonable.

Mine is £640 for an import through Admiral, but they don't much like mods for new customers and I am an old(er) git !
