Do a Search for Datascan on the forum, quite a few of us use it. Thats the cable for it. I presume the seller is including the Datascan software ? Thats about the same price for Cable + Datascan from blatz direcly in new zealand.

Hi Guys,

My name is Jason from New Zealand. I am the inventor and manager of the blazt.

I am a 300ZX enthusiast myself in Auckland, help run the local club and organise race meets etc. I sometimes browse worldwide forums for more info and came accross this thread. If any of you have queries regarding the cable then the best thing is to contact the UK distributor (Martin Cooksey) who lives in Nth London (Herts), or failing that contact me. Our contact details are on the website http://www.blazt.biz.

Oh, by the way, Im going to be in the UK for the first time end of next week for a month. I heard its blooooooody cold over there at the moment, but if you guys have any meetings during that time I would quite like to attend.

I just bought a laptop (£110), and the software was bought from this ebay seller (£75) and it came next day in the post.

The software is not very easy to install but instructions are provided. Data Logger provided on the cd requires .net framework or something like that to complete the installation, so I cant install that at the mo.

The software lets you view all the engine readings in real time, and do a few tests (timing, cylinder tests etc.)which I can't figure out how to do just yet.

ECU diagnostic and reset at the touch of a button, really handy :) 0-60 0-100 etc.

Probably a lot more usefull stuff can be dug out from this software but the lack of manual in any form forbids noobs like mo to do so.

and two version of Datascan are available on the cd v1.3 and v1.4 but v1.4 asks for insertion of another cd

Im not sure about the insertion of second CD. Havent come across that before. Did it install correctly in the end?

One of the reasons the package is so cheap is because it doesnt have a manual. There will be one written soon, and we are working on a tuning manual now. If anyone has something they want included in the manual please let me know. At the moment its just going to be the basic howto. Setting TPS, timing, replacing air filter, fuel filter, power balance test, etc. Eventually it will include a fault finding guide which as you can appreciate is not an easy task in a Zed, or any performance Nissan for that matter.

Keep me informed.

Jason

Simon

Thanks WillyEd for the welcome.

Im going to be based in a little town called Haydock. A bit to the right of Liverpool. Ive been told to keep my eye on my wallet. Ive got my thermals packed too. It will be my first time in the Nothern Hemisphere so Im really looking forward to it. The occasion is having xmas with my girlfriends family. Should be a good hoot.

Im going to be in London on about the 27th-28th dec. Wouldnt mind seeing how the UK 300ZX crowd do things.

Bring some cables wiv yer in ya suitcase and some C.D,s then we can buy them cheap (bit of beer money)  .............i do want to get one of these but as said above if we are not computer literate it is hard for us to set up and use, i for one snap more keyboards over my knee than anything else, it doesnt help except i feel better after it, so manual would be really helpful oh and welcome and pehaps GROUP BUY coming ????
