whats the widest i can go with my rear tyres??? i just checked rim for rim and its was just over 10.5 inches 17 inch

my rim size is 10.75??

im not sure if mesuring it with a tape measure is the right way to do it, usually the wheel width is printed on the wheel somewhere

i got the tape measure and the alloy RIM measured just over 10.5 from rim to rim.i hav 265 35 17's on right now

well that is usually classed at 10.5 wide alot of cars with that width wheel are only using 265 but with bigger wheels (like 18's) an dthey use a lower profile

 

ive got a 265 on my 8and a half width rim and find i get a lot of tyre scrub cause the tyre is too big for the wheel

i agree 315 will go on but i would not advise

 

chris the tyres on yours, are they ladies tyres so you dont kerb your wheels when parking lol :hyper:

Rim width is measured on the internal edge of the alloy not across the top of the wheel you can take an 1" or 1.5" of of that figure.
