one thing ive noticed in various mags and sites is the elevated bhp claims ,now i think we are all guilty of this in some degree and i think we should try and get a bit more real here,if for instance a certain persons car is proven on a rolling road with certain modifications and has a read out then maybe we all could use this as some form of guide lines for others  :x:

Yeah we all know Iain is running 320 bhp, and no more ;)

346 at the fly wheel whatever that is at the wheels on paper done at interpro!!!

Isn't the bhp at the fly an educated estimate calculated from the measuerd BHP at the wheels? Therefore it cannot possibly be accurate. Is there a way you can lift the engine out and dyno it at the crank to be sure, or is this a waste of time, considering the power is laid down at the wheels not at the crank?

LOL I agree mate, too many people believe they are going to get big BHP numbers and X turbos will produce X BHP and a v12 NA will do this and that because they read it on the net :headvswal

My car is 190 at the wheels and I will race and beat any Z in the UK

well ive got a proven 340 at the flywheel and 261 at the wheels, so there

at the end of the day it should be gauge on how much bhp is at the wheels, and as for ians car i think that is around 500 mark but im sure he will put in his views on this matter, put it this way some of our cars are supposed to be running 400 plus if this is so then ians must be 700 -800 then catch my meaning on these bhp claims, this thread is not directed at any individuals ,so keep it honest

Well Joking aside now I know where you are coming from Jason.I am only over the 500 mark as I have to upgrade to twin fuel pumps,as my pump cant flow any more fuel over 21psi of boost.

I really did not think that would have been an issue because like most I read on the net that the stock fuel pump was good for over 600rwhp

There is a car on here that was claimed to be 400bhp :x: If that car was 400bhp then mine is 1600bhp,because the way I pulled away from it was soooooooo funny I thought he had stopped.

At the end of the day the only person you are fooling is yourself when you claim your car is running ??? bhp

yes mate, to measure power at the fly you'd probably have to remove clutch onwards and hook up the flywheel itself to the dynamometer. to calc (or rather guess) bhp@fly they take the bhp@wheels and then increase by a certain %. usually 10-15% for manual, 20-25% for autos.

346@fly

I didnt do the power run so i blame Interpro tw*ts for not doin at the wheel but if above is right i should be 300bhp at wheels ?????? Manual trans.

This sounds like a "my dick is bigger than your dick" conversation...

I have no idea what my BHP is. Maybe one day I will get it done out of interest but that would be it...
