cambelt

After reading jeff tt thread on cambelts im a bit concerned about mine, i got my cambelt done about 4 yrs ago but since then i havnt driven zed much about 20,000 miles max recently took off upper cam cover belt seemed as new should i still get it changed thanx in advance.

i would just to be on the safe side as most manufacturers advice to replace every certain amount of miles or every 3 yrs.

IMHO, if you had it changed 4 yrs a ago then i would leave it alone, unless you have done 50-60k on it thats why it gets changed on the 60k service, or if it has been in for 6 yrs (shelf life) which it hasn't.

My 1991 ZX had 62k miles (UK spec, fnsh) when I bought it 2 & 1/2 years ago and the belt had never been changed despite the age of the car. I had it changed owing to the mileage rather than age.

If your car has had it changed already but you haven't covered 60k miles since then, leave it.
