ok as previously posted the zed doesn't seem too fast.

Now tonight i though lets do a 0-60 run

now the car a is a uk auto TT

 

the time was around 9 seconds.

The only probs that i know about are it needs a new shock absorber on the back near side.

 

Anyone got a clue why its so slow??

 

I tried the car with overdrive on and off and the times were very similar.

 

if anyone lives in or around sunderland and could show me how fast there zeds are i'd appreciate it

hmmm that is not normal im running a swb n/a manual and it does 0-60 in 7secs

ouch typical TT 0-60 will be around 5.5 secs in standard form. Thats a MASSIVE difference. Must be down by a good 100-150bhp/ibft.

 

Have you done an ECU check ?

i had a very similar problem mate when i first got my z. turned out i had a nasty oil leak, a nasty boost leak, and the car was running in safety boost. once sorted it goes like stink.

do a search for ecu error codes and do a test. also check to make sure all the plumbing is done up nice and tight.

is there a garage in the north east that can check the zed over properly for me as it does seem very slow and im useless with cars!

 

i do know it seems to have a leak in the back of the engine somewhere and the other day it smelt like something was burning from the engine bay which i thought would have just been the oil on the excaust burnig away. :headvswal

You're not towing a caravan or anything at the same time are you?!? 9 seconds?? That's not right.

Checking the ecu codes is easy enough mate, just keep ya eye on it!

Also get a conzult check done, and also a boost leak check! I know the stock gauge is shite, but what boost does it register at "full" ?

guys you no he needs a conzolt check and needs to sort this out, is there anyone in the north east that can help him out up there, were boughts you from mate.

off the top of me head, my local Nissan robbing buggers have a conzult. couldnt do worse than ring em up and ask them if they could check it for you. must have a few in your area. 1 of them should be able to help, it only takes 5 minutes

Z's are not cheap mate, paying a lot of money towards the maintenance is just part and parcel of owning it. I would personally say if I was you I would pay the above to find out what is causing the problem. IMHO. I have spent a lot more than that on a lot less. ;)

Dude, an ecu check is as easy as scratching your balls. Its defo the first place to start, and its not worth someone driving to see you just to turn a screwdriver.
