Here is a good one. I have a Japan 91 TT automatic. Does anyone have any idea what a button on the centre console could be for. its near the shifter. It has an led light that lights up when its on. The guy I bought it from has no idea what its for. All suggestions are welcome

Fog lamp? Switch it on then run round the back of the car and see if there's a bright light somewhere.

Ejector seat ? Missle launcher ?

 

Could be the parking aid aerial thingy that some japs have, or the rear fog as Rich says.

is it not the sports switch for the auto box???

Auto box has a 3 way selector switch near the shifter but I have a m8 who also has a fog lamp switch installed near here to.

How about a now defunct switch for yer under car neons?

I've got one.

Too late I already turned the switch on. No missiles launched, the seats are still in tact and its not the power hold button. Rich had it spot on its the rear foglight switch.

No I am lucky enough not to have that, but I do have a bunch of wires from the kick a** speakers he took out.

Turn it on and off 3 times inside 5 seconds then switch on the ignitio.

It will go into self diagnostic mode.

If the light on the switch is off, the foglight is off.

If the light is on, the fog light is on.

maybe.

To get out of self-diagnose-foglight-mode46, just turn off the ignition.

Or don't.
