Some people miss out the cambelt auto tensioner..

some people miss out the water pump..

many people miss out the cam/crank seals..

some people also end up taking it all off again to do the water pump a thousand miles later smile.gif some don't...

personally, i did the lot. tensioner, water pump, cam/crank seals, VTC springs.

what you *definitely* need to do is;

the cambelt

the short bits of water hose between the upper metal pipe & block

what you would be mad not to do at the same time is;

the thermostat

accessory belts

I got my kit (complete) from courtesy, paid about £60 import duty. Still worked out at about a quarter the price a UK dealer would charge.

Hi Kris, did you get my email reply?

Best thing you can do is decide what you want to change while there (i did all + fuel filter except cam/crank seals) and phone Olds Nissan main dealer in Bournemouth and get a cost on their parts.

Someone mentioned a day or so ago that import + shipping is approx 20% of total cost which seemed right when I got my stuff from Courtesy.

Have you had time to look for Park Garage or are you thinking of doing yourself?

Cheers

Martin

I had a look at courtesy and the kit came to just under £300 with shiping($55) I was just wondering if all the parts are needed in the kit? seems a lot of springs, seals and plates? how much did park garage charge you for fiting? also what parts did you not use?

I was just wondering if there is any where in the UK?

thanks mate

Hi Kris

The kit should cost £268 with fuel filter, remember to say you are a member of TwinTurbo.net for a discount - of course exchange rate may change this a little.

There was a thread recently (started by TT Tim if I remember correctly) but i'm, buggered if I can find now. It discussed the pros and cons of fitting the tensioner etc. Like I said i did mine. I was glad I got the kit and it looked like my water pump was on its way out also.

You could call Park Garage for their recommendations of what to get and see how much they can source the parts for and then go with the cheapest. They know there stuff down there and did an excellent job on my car. Managed to do all in a day plus changed brake fluid, cooling system, oil and filter and even put screen wash in the screen resivior (spelling) wink.gif.

There charge is £32.50 per hour + vat and with cost of other fluids my total bill was around £350 with them.

They also will give use a courtesy car smile.gif

dont want to blow my own horn but

i do work for £28.00+vat
