I agree, in the Morrisons ad stylee with Sean Bean doing the voice over.... Reason 322 not to shop at Superchips...

 

They got seriously fleeced with some of the prices they paid.. I cant belieeeeve they didnt put uprated pistons in it when it blew... why oh why oh why opt for a stock rebuild. Knowing lotus prices I suspect aftermarket uprated bits would probably have been cheaper.

Surely trying to do it on the cheap with a 22k car is back to front, getting something from the classifieds e.g. Bigbscan's and throwing £30k at it would have yeilded far better returns?

When they first announced this project last series I thought WTF spend a fortune on a Lotus Esprit, then try and get 200mph out of it??? :confused:

 

Surely a better bet would have been a Skyline R33 GTR or a Supra TT.

 

Both of those would have been cheaper to buy and easier/cheaper to tune in order to reach 200mph - plus loads more reliable ;)

Lotus Esprit was a good car though...

Not the world's hugest fan of Lotuses. Personally I think 32k could have been much better spent on something like a 300zx, supra tt, NSX or maybe something silly like a nova with a 5.7 litre V8 supercharged viper engine in the boot :D

if I had 32K I would buy a proper car,,,,but the Lotus was a very good car..but I like the cars with character..Dodge Charger, Viper, 60's Corvette Stingray, 70's Mustang etc...
