Do the door locks have motors?

I'm being really thick i'm sure... do the door locks on the z32 zed have motors/solenoids? The reason I ask is my drivers side lock barrel is knobbed (thieving scum tried to screwdriver it) & I have a universal remote central locking kit available to me. It consists of a black box & wires which you connect to the motors (of the old style central locking which only works with the actual key in the lock.) and a remote key fob. I was hoping that rather than messing around changing the lock barrel I could just use this kit as the passenger side lock works if i lose the remote fob. Any advice or links would be much appreciated folks.

NOw when I sit in the car & pull the drivers side lever, the passenger side one moves too, but not the other way round which would sound right then... so in short... my uni-kit won't work will it, if the motor is in the passenger side? Don't wanna have to pull the door cards off til i'm sure about what i'm doing...

I think the drivers door is a switch operated by the key that operates the servo motor in the passenger door .You will have to fit a servo in the drivers door if you want remote locking maybe from us spec car LHD.

theres a motor in the passenger door so c/l only works from the drivers side ie. lock driver door and passnger door locks also, lock passenger door and drivers door does not lock. when i had my alarm fitted they just put another motor in the drivers door, sorted.
