About an hour ago 3 police cars screamed past my house, followed by a riot van a couple of minutes after. A helicopter was up with the search beam too. Half hour later (now) just seen 2 recovery trucks with a couple of really, and i mean really, smashed up cars on them go past. Then 2 more police cars, an ambulance and a coroner :(

things like this are always going on in the world and even if you are not associated with the person who this unfortunate event has befallen, it still saddens a person with the slightest incling of moral and humanity. its events such as these that actually make one appreciate life and in some way makes your own problem seem that much insignificant. on a brighter note though mother nature has a way of balancing the scales and events of a much happier situation with the same magnitude of glee occur at random intervals and make life worth living. this is life ..happiness and sadness.

what is happiness without sadness and vice versa.

cheer up mate ..this incident seems to have made you a bit weary. ke sara sara whatever ..........

Very true, i went for a walk, turns out it was the road which is easier to access, but it has been blocked off at one end and the incident happened closer to this end of the road which is why the ambulance etc went this way (at a guess).

It is saddening, but i agree, there is a balance and it has to be maintained whether we like it or not. I'm glad i am not involved and hopefully no-one i know is involved, but i do feel for those who have lost a loved one. :(

There's a lot of truth in that.

Makes you realise it's worth being careful whilst you're driving as well: not worth your life, or somebody else's, just to get somewhere on time, or gain a few seconds, or engage in a pissing contest with a BMW driver just because he's got up your nose.

tis true, lots of bad shit happens all the time.

was just glad i was on the alp (large simon snorkel style ladder) at work the other night, as the pump went out to clear up a similar accident - 5 kids aged 14-16 in a stolen metro, wrapped it around a lamp post and into a wall.

not pretty. ive been to multi-fatality rtc's, but i dont fancy putting 5 kids in bodybags. its more frustrating knowing that something like that has happened, and your machine is of no help to anyone at that time. all i could do was take this piss out the others when they got back (universal fire brigade moral support ;) ). its just another reminder how frail life is really - and to make the most of it while your here.

I have quite a controversial view on this, the kids didn't deserve to die, granted but they had it coming! Stealing and driving cars especially when you're under age is f00king terrible and we don't need people like that in this world! Ok, i did learn to drive when I was 10 so i never felt the urge to illegally drive on the road as i could drive on the farm whenever i wanted, but there is a line of stupidity and if you cross this stupidity line then IMHO your existance on this planet cannot be justified. By no means do i believe those kids deserved to die however!

I have a lot of respect for people who do a job like your's, I for one don't think I could put people in body bags and I know for sure I couldn't if it was children.

I have the same view, they were little scrotes - which is fookin annoying, cos the site of the crash is covered in flowers and people sending 'best wishes' etc - i cant understand it. as you say, no matter how young etc, they were still pissed up under-age in a stolen car.

theres a big controversy and investigation going on as to whether they were being chased by the police or not - the locals want blood - and i just hope that none of the coppers get stitched up.

I always look on the side of - 'what would have happened if a family were driving up the road at that time???'

would have been reminiscent of the one on the A23 last year..........

I do feel for the families of the deceased, however they could have killed someone else, an innocent person or people, in which case i would have a completely differet view. If someone kills a member of my family because they are drunk or because they stole a car i would kill them myself! As for the police chasing them........WTF?!?!?!?! What would the people rather the police do? Park up and have a cup of coffee and let those kids turn the place into gotham city? FFS grow up

Wouldnt inflict death on any body but Fook em "if you cant do the time dont do the crime" Its all to easy to feel sorry for tham but what about the carnage and chaos they leave behind ? they don't give a F*ck about anybody or anything. Ive had first hand experiance with these twats. I say forget em they should not even get a mention in the news or TV.

im not alone then!!! thank **** for that! its just stupid down here - remembrance services, flowers tv appearances for the family - ffs!!!

well...they've paid the ultimate price so i guess they are all square with the house now...let them have their moment

but must say the A23 was worse IMHO cos the folks crossed the road and killed innocent others who were doing nothing more than going home after a day out...nasty business

its not a nice thing to happen to anyone at all. lets all leave it at that. we all did stupid things in our youth .. some more than others and on reminissing we can all dig deep in our hearts and say that the youth of today albeit differing to the youth of yesteryear are never accepted into society as being normal. some grow up faster than others but nowadays responsabitlity is not given to children enough. theres a saying where i come from and roughly translated : a tree with fickle roots cannot stand brave to the wind. give them responsabilities, part time jobs from which they keep £10 - 20 per week and the parents take the rest. give them a sense of direction, give back power to the parents and teachers to discipline kids. a clout around the ear never hurt any one or a damn good hiding. i used to hear "when i were a lad" in my youth and now im saying it.

i agree 100% the world we live in is crazy there are no values or accountability for actions anymore ;)

The FATFurious has got a lot to answer for IMO !
