my dad has asked me to ask the pros on here, he also has a 300zx tt manual, he had just finished a short drive, set his turbo timer as usual, but about 10 sec b4 it turned off his reved straight to 2500 revs, for about 5 secs then cut out as it shub, why did it rev up and what could be the problem.

There isnt a reason i know of why it would rev up mate not even sure the timer could do that. may :confused: be it would be best not to use the timer as if you rev it like that it defeats the object of the timer !

he didnt rev it, it reved up on its own mate

Could be the TPS? Get him to unplug it and clean the connectors. Only a guess though, mine used to go up to 1500 now and then cos of that.

No sorry mate i meant the turbo timer not your dad. Does it rev up if you have the timer turned off when left on idle ?

dont know but from what he said, it sounded like it was the first time ever it did it.
