Sidewall punctures!

No i haven't any, touch wood!

But if you get a puncture in a sidewall! I had it before on the Monza, - most places will not fix it rather sell you another tyre, is there anywhere the members reading this can say a place that will fix them, either by the big plug method or vac-melt method.

Could be 'andy for us all!

It begs the question though.

How safe would you feel driving on a tyre that had had a side wall puncture repair? I know I wouldn't even entertain the thought.

No No No never ever do that. Any deformation of the sidewall weakens how the bead reacts to pressure and that will cause a nasty accident.

Just an additonal note to the information given by 300ZX. Its actually illegal to repair the sidewall by law. This is because of the safety implications.

Yeah that's what I was always lead to believe.

Besides it's not worth the risk even if your tyres were £200 a shot.

One of our guys had a 110mph blow out on the rear with his missus in the car, lukily missed everything on the road and was unharmed.
