Guys

After considerable thought, and believe me I have been stewing over this one all night, and after listening to some of the other guys on here, its time for the Zed to go. :(

I never thought I would have seen this day come but reality is that she's costing me too much money to be able to afford to live the life my salary dictates, instead the zed dictates my quality of life and that cant be right... :(

As much as I love the car it has got me in debt to the point where somethings gotta give if I ever want to own my own house. I could carry on but I just dont know how old I am gonna be when I finally get there. :headvswal

All the stress, heartache, lack of driving, money pit issues is whats driven me to this point, 2 1/2 years later......

Anyway, as other have said, HUGE thank you to all you guys that have helped me out over the years, without this help, I probably could have doubled the figures that I have spent already.

The worst part about all this is that my car is worth more in parts, T25 hybrids etc etc than what it is as a whole. But with that, I will be listing all the parts whn I have finally got the car tuned.

I am going to egt the headgasket done with the bottom end honed and re-ringed, new bearings etc etc and then get it fully mapped before the sale of the entire running gear. I am hoping it'll achieve a good 450bhp at 17psi with this setup, and what with the manual kit, would make a nice transplant with the new ecu loom I have into the right car.

That is all for now, I cant explain to you how fVckin depressed I feel but I think thats because reality has finally hit home..... :o

Its house time and then I'll probably venture down the RB26 route when I'm all settled and an SP1 will have to keep me content for now......

VERY sad......

Thanks....I'm off for a triple...... :duffer: :duffer: :headvswal

Another one :( , I dont think their will be many of us owning Zs at Xmas. Thats if we are able to sell them for half decent money :( Since advertising mine I have had a few calls saying really interested then nothing, I dont think anybodys got any money this close to Xmas, But good Luck selling Mark.

Gutted mate!! :(

Really sorry to see this, Wish i had the cash to join you for a tipple! :(

No doubt i'll see yer soon at Phils!

Another brave decision - but done for all the right reasons - good luck with your future plans mate. Stick around eh????

Gutted for you mate. I kind of know how you feel, because with owning a zed, even if you're not actively engaged in spending loads of money modifying it, there's always this lingering anxiety that something horribly serious is going to go wrong, and you're going to be saddled with a massive bill for it. I've considered getting rid of mine two or three times now (and I've only had it since February), but the thing is I just love driving it so much, and it is such a great car. Went to the pub for lunch today with a bunch of the guys from work, and because it was such a nice day, took the targa panels off for the drive there, and realised yet again how much I love this car.

Like I said, gutted for you, but sounds like you've made the decision for the right reasons. And anyway, you can always turn up for a meet and go for a ride in somebody else's. :)

Sorry to hear that Mark. Was looking like an interesting project aswell.

But, as apache says, its for the right reasons.

Im trying to avoid reality myself. :( On the other hand, i could think of somewhere to put your engine lol.

It is for the right reasons mate, I cant be in debt and just own a nice car for the next 5 years, I'll be hitting the big '30' within the next 2 years......

Ask chunk how fast this car is without the coolers on, its unbelievable.....like I say, I'm hoping to sell the entire running gear as a transplant for the right car.....it'll be all ready and tuned to go..... ;)

Can't say I blame you mate, u've made the right decision given the circumstances. My car never runs right, it's got a transmission leak, water leak etc. They're a full time job in themselves & I never get chance to sort mine out.

I'm not upto speed on this, but it is sad that you're not going to see the end of your 'project'. But one thing...

...the quest for exciting, different and exclusive cars will keep you in debt well into your 30s! Believe me, I know. :D

Tim

Bloody hel mate sorry to hear it, I hope I did'nt put you on a down hill slope ;) all the best for you mate

john d

:( Sorry to hear this mate - I've only met you a couple of times, and I'm gutted for ya bud.

Have another drink.

Sorry to hear that :(

Im selling mine as well after 6 months :x:

Its been fun but it uses more fuel than my Z28 5.0 Camaro and i cant justify it either.

Seems a lot of people had enough ?

Well, its not going to be cheap.....

To start, I would sell the entire running gear in one, comprising of:

Gearbox (Full manual conversion if needed) Could sell seperately....£650

Hybrid T25's - £1200

Nismo 555's - £600

Greddy SMIC - £700

Lightweight flywheel - £350

Stage 3 clutch - £250

Hardpipe Kit - £220

Polished plenum - £200

Braided fuel lines - £65

Ecu - Chipped mapped by JD with nearly new loom - £PRICELESS Nissan - £700+

Apexi BOV's - £250

APexi PPI - 85

3 x APexi Gauges in 'A' pillar pod with control unit - £God knows, loads!!

Full engine with new rings, bearings, heads skimmed and tuned for max BHP. -£650

Spare full engine to go too.......£400

AVC-R - £250

Their not the prices I will be selling at, their the prices I paid (Well nearly on some! :D ) and want to sell as a bulk lot.....

That total alone is : £6,320....!!!!! without the gauges or exhausts (Which are the best I might add!! :D ).....cant believe how much I have spent on this car.... :headvswal

Not sure what price I will be asking yet but I'm not letting it go for silly money, I'd rather keep it if that was the case...

But I'll let you know nearer the time..... ;)

Sure does Tony, its just too much money to waste that I dont have anymore.....

The cost of living is too expensive and trying to live on my own isnt easy what with having debts and trying to mod/run 2 cars, one being a zed.... :headvswal

Life sh1t, but I'll be back.... ;)

Stick it in a garage and come back to it when times are rosier. (Damn! How do you spell that? lol)

Mine was purchased on impulse as i fancied a change from yanks and rods :hyper:

I still think for speed and comfort ill be hard pushed to find anything better and it was so much more practicle than my other car apart from the massive fuel consumption Ive only Got induction kit Hks Supension 18" wheels no major mods to motor and its awfull So i can only guess at how much fuel you and some of the other guys with heavy mods use ??

Never mind any one fancy a 1992 on a "K" Jap spec Red paint, leather, TTops Twin Turbo Auto full alarm ? :D :D

Might be Something wrong there (overfueling from faulty o2 sensors?). I find mpg pretty good, even returned 33mpg on long motorway run.

even returned 33mpg on long motorway run.

 My NA wouldnt do that.

Sorry to hear that your getting rid bud, but you're right, the car should be an addition to your life, not the driving force.

Sorry to hear that mark,as you say quality of life is far more important

good luck bud

Gutted for you Mark! :( -can see your point tho'-I wouldn't like to guess what Iv'e chucked at cars in my time!

Good luck bud. ;)
