How engines work (for idiots like me)

I had an MSN session with Andy Duff and Nico the other day. They explained to me (very patiently) how the whole turbo, intercooler thing works. Anyway, I came across this site which is quite good for car idiots like me: http://www.keveney.com/Engines.html

It shows animated engines for all the various types, including weird ones like Wankel rotary engines.

Cheers,

Andy

Nah, can't have been me during the day - I WORK during the day biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif However sometimes I feel like I work for MS as their chief messenger tester wink.gif biggrin.gif

Hi AndyD - just noticed your based near me!

Sorry for hijacking the thread, but any chance you could clue me in about your Z? There's one or two that I drive past around Lytham / Preston way occasionally and seeing you're around the Preston area, I wondered if it might have been you I've been spotting ...

I reckon we should have a "Forum for Andys..." biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Mine is a white UK TT Manual. Have you got a 300? if so what colour etc. You'll have to get down to one of the local meets round here - great fun to be had especially when the full posse gets together wink.gif

Afraid I'm a bit of an outsider, run a graphite grey 200sx now (re)equipped with a T3 turbo.

Someone told me yesterday there was another of those American car meets on Preston dock this Friday from 7pm onwards. Shall I keep an eye out for a Z? smile.gif

Still welcome to come along to a meet m8 - everyones welcome biggrin.gif

Unfortunately mines off the road at the moment waiting for a new rad and for me to put a new cambelt on it... Never been to one of those meets at preston docks to be honest but have heard of them....

CheerZ,

Andy

Where and how often are the meets? I never hear anything, no-one on the 200 board tells me anything. Last time I saw the cars down the Docks was by accident, was just trying to get a McDonalds and I saw Morrison's was stacked full of cars. It was all quite nice, right up to the moment when something drifted out of the car park and fishtailed into someone's Alfa frown.gif

How engines work (for idiots like me)?

Just like an amature whore.

Suck, Squeeze, Bang, Blow. Simple, just like me.

Jezz.

The venue for meets varies but the best and most insane ones are round here at my house wink.gif 300z can fill you in on what we're like from a 'southerners perspective' biggrin.gif (Yes I know he's from SA - check the map - he's still from down south biggrin.gif)

Last meet we had was round leigh area (Johnny's) and was only a few weeks ago...

Maybe this should be a regular thing guyZ??? wink.gif

Sorry for completely trashing your thread Andy wink.gif However northern meets are FAR more important than your links tongue.gif biggrin.gif

CheerZ,

Andy
