PJ thinks I'm running about 13 or 14. Legrath's driven both and thinks mine pulls harder. But I do suffer from a bit of lag, so initial pickup is not as good.

i'm running 14 psi with remapped ecu (off the same guy as pj) so mine is gonna be same sort of power as pj's

Not tying to have ago, but i think Novembers meet should have been posted up at begining of october? I found it a lot easier by having 2 or 3 months meets pre arranged and it help build up numbers as it gave good notice.

What happened to all the venue's that were built up? we have good places to meet in Gloucester, Weston, Bristol etc

I cant make meets with such little notice and im missing going to them.

You need more than 4 weeks notice to attend a meet on a sunday ?

People were getting fed up of going to a pub in Bristol every month, and we need to accomodate our other members who dont live on your door step.

We never went to a pub in bristol every month and you dont even give 4 weeks notice. Look back and see we went gloucester, bristol, weston and this was to build up numbers (most SW owners are from those area's).

Its impossible to please everyone. You insist on one on your doorstep, while all the others who dont live near bristol (and there are quite a few) get unhappy about all the meets being near bristol.

Gloucester, Bristol and weston are all pretty much the same place when you look at the Area SW must cover, and those locations are where the majority of the arranged meets have been so far !

Others welcome diversity and I arrange meets around those that show a strong wish to attend meets and make the effort.

I have been in talks with the Events organiser at Haynes Motor Museum for a Planned meet there at the end of November.

Haynes International Motor Museum

Castle Cary Road (A359)

Sparkford

Somerset

BA22 7LH

I will post full details later today, or tomorrow morning. I am waiting on details on a range of xperience activities they offer including - Drifting, Dual-control cars, Test track challenges..etc

Alternatively a Group booking in the Musuem would be around £5.25 pp, with over 340 vehicles from the Ford Model-T to the Jag XJ220.

Then onto Drinks at a nearby pub afterwards.

* full details will be posted in seperate thread later *

But what happened when you decided to orginise a meet further south, you ended up local again due to lack of intrest. I think the south coast need its own orginiser due to distance.

This is not a complaint because any excuse to get the car out!!

But I will say that there has only been 2 meets north of the M4 this year

one in Febuary at m5 services and on to the Fromebridge Mill

and the joint wales /sw at ross on wye. really we should get over

to Cirencester and Swindon as well as the up and down the M5.

4 meets south of bristol in as many months almost, its putting

miles on me zed man!!!

4 weeks warning? LOL ;)

Nice to have it outside of Bristol. Gives all members a chance to move about AND a nice change. :)

*Jan - Bristol

*Feb - Glouc

March - Weston

April - Puriton

*May - Japfest

*June - Bristol

*June2 - Bristol - Interpro

*July - JAE

*Aug - Ross-on-wye

*Sept - bristol

Oct - bridgwater

Thats 8 Northern meets, and only 3 south of M4.

We will be having some more meets further north again, although have to remember 90% of the South West is south of the M4 and we have'nt had a meet any more than 30mins from M4.

Not sure that it's fair to include the big events as SW meetings, and Bristol is south of the M4.

Dave, have you done a distribution graph to see what % of forum members are where? "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, or the one" as a wise Vulcan once said. Surely the few should meet up with the many?

FWIW, we have the same kind of problem in archery with clubs/competitions. The solution has been to divide up into four groups: Devon & Cornwall, Dorset & Wiltshire, Somerset (incl. Bath) and Gloucestershire (incl. Bristol), based on distribution. Perhaps we're getting to the stage where we need more than just one SW region?

No worries Marcus - mine is back on the road now :)

It sites between the M5 and M4 interchange, so I'd call it borderline.

According to : http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=49778

Glouc, Bristol, Wilt = 12

Somerset, Dorset, Devon, Cornwall = 19

I agree, its very difficult to cover Cornwall & Devon as well as the Bristol area, but I find it very frustrating that people complain about a 30min drive.

First 4 I arranged and all were indifferent places, Japfest and JAE were big national events and i arranged the extra one in bristol as it was a rolling rd day. All were booked a long way in advance.

Mine may have been on the m4 m5 but glos to weston is a big spread.

The Ross meet dont count as it was a joint meet and apart from that uve arranged bridgewater and bristol.

We cant cater for the whole of the SW, the south, south west needs it own orginiser.

Dave most of us have limited milage policies thats probally why we complain about 30 min drives :)

I've had about enough. :( Its a pity all those that complain directly to me about us always having meets near Bristol dont voice these opinions publicly, leaving me to argue their case to the few that complain about not having them in Bristol.

:( :( :( :(

weve had enough i bristol, i think your right with haynes has it still in out area but i think we cant go no further south. Gloucester and swindon are also SW members so maybe we need to head that direction after.

all im saying is book slightly more ahead so we can plan. like

3rd sunday of each month

Dec - Xmas Meal

Jan - Glos

Feb - Special event (TBC) rolling rd or drag strip or karting

then we can all pre arrange so we know what we are doing.
