hi im thinking of getting a SPEEDO CONVERTER/DELIMITER CHIP from ebay as my clocks are in kph any one fitted one are they easy to do and do they work thanks

A much better, and more reliable way is to have the ECU socketed and chipped properly by one of the guys on here. AndyP or John Dixon could possible sort this for you.

you wont get a chip that converts your Km/ ph to MPH, tho, if you use one of the guys above, it will improve your performance and remove the limiter.

To convert the km to miles , you need to a) get a set of uk clocks which are rare as hens teeth, b) get a converter to wire in behind the dash, or c) do a search on here for conversion where you change a resistor behind the clocks

thanks for the help the item on ebay is 4584673601 thanks

That will do the job for you it works by robbing a percentage of the pulses from the speedo feed (about a 5/8 of them). thus convincing your clocks and ECU that youre travelling slower than you are which (funnily) correlates to the MPH youre doing.

Though as the limiter is still there, effectively you could could still hit the speed limiter at 160 odd (11/8 of 112 mph)

It also has the potential to mess up speed related stuff, like powersteering. The best way is to change the clocks (or convert them) and get the ECU chipped to remove the limiter.

I've just fitted two of the converter chips behind the clocks(one at a time, b4 anybody questions it).

neither worked - same symptoms - which are detailed in another thread.

Back to the drawing board

I will have a look and see if I still have the instructions for the conversion, it is only changing one resistor a 21 ohm for a 33 ohm or vice versa
