Well looks like im gonna be made redundant in the new year as the RAC has decided to move all of it jobs to India, although they will keep their UK connection by taking the money off its UK customers and shipping it abroad :(.

 

Ohh well ill see if their are any sales jobs left in the UK for future employment.

Sorry to hear that mate - I switched banks coz they moved their call centre ops abroad. Also failed to renew the wife's car ins with NU for the same reason.

Well NU has recently taken over the RAC and as you already know they are a big user of cheap overseas labour.

I bet they are rubbing their hand with the news the RAC will be doing this. Only problem is a lot of companies use an english sales team to sell the initial policy and then everything else is in another country. Most people dont actually know that most of the jobs are in India for a lot of big companies.

Had thought about using the RAC, but if I have to wait for someone to fly out from Bombay, then I don't think I'll bother........ ;)

 

I think having sales/help desks in a country where the mother language is not the communication language is pretty poor. Especially when most, if not all of the employees have strong accents. It's not always easy to understand and from a sales/marketing point of view, it's very very poor.

 

It's almost sad that it has to come to this really. Outsourcing UK information systems to countries where the accent is so strong, it makes communication sometimes impossible. Finance analysts will rub their hands with glee, but that will only be short lived. I predict in the long run, it'll do more harm than good.

 

Imagine the problems that would happen if their entire call centre went out there...not sure if that would happen. I find it sometimes difficult when even using AA UK call centres whenever there's been a problem.
