The Old Guy is coming to see the zed for the first time tomorrow, and I know what he is going to say...blah blah blah 3 litre engine blah blah blah too fast blah blah blah you'll kill yourself blah blah blah insurance. My mum will do her nut, turn white and say 'you don't drive that thing do you'....

Whose dad loves the zed and who hates it? Is there anyone on here that has followed in your father's footsteps and got a zed too? My bloke has always gone for safe and boring. He thought his old Datsun Laurel was a cool car. At the time I loved it!

My Dad Had a Triumph Herald Vittes with tyhe 2.2 staight 6 twin choke webbers which I thought was ace. Then he had a Lotus Cortina which he love ,but I thought the Herald nicer and his best car was a 5.0 V 12 Etype which my mother went balistic about and he eventually sold it to my Eldest Brother who swapped it for a MkI Mustang which he still has to this day.

My dad had motor bikes as well, but he died when I was only 13. Though I know for a fact and even my mother says "ya dad would have like one of those himself". So I must be a chip of the old block.

My Dad was a biker, he had no real interest in cars, I mean he had a Talbot Avenger FFS!!

I took him out in my Fiat Uno Turbo (i was 18) and that scared the crap outta him LOL!

I think he would of appriciated the Z thou, but he wouldnt of wanted to be a passenger with his trusty son driving it!

my dad has always loved the v6 engine and it jsut seems appropriate for me to get one. my brother also had a v6 406 coupe my dad had 2 v6 granada mk2, one a saloon and the other estate.

i remember helping him when i was younger to take the engine out and strip and rebuild it. (i was only about 10 so wasnt much help tho)

he has only just got rid of his last granny 2.3 v6 after owning it for 12 years and sold it for the same amount of money he brought it for

he misses his v6 so loves driving or being driven in mine.

My old fella has been into his Capri's since further back than I could remember, he's had the lot.

Would love to get him a nice 2.8injection/infection but they are hard to find now.

Cool when your old man is into cars aswell, but yeah they do struggle with the twin turbo V6 concept! Maybe they're right, old school an' all that. ;)

My dad helped me rebuild it first time to get it on the road he really liked it, he drove it round the block after it was built I told him to nail it and it scared the shite out of him :D he is more of a diesel estate man :headvswal

My dad's not into cars anymore and stopped driving after his first heart attack back in 1988.

However as an engineer and general "mad professor" he has always taken a keen interest in some of my cars and he was fascinated by the ZX when I bought it.

Richard :D

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

My dad loves it!

He's always loved cars but when young he was too skint and sensible to get one that's much fun. His one discretion when he had a bit more cash was a Cavalier GSi 2000 when they were new, and from which he developed his digital acceleration problem (damn good fun it was tho). By his own admission he says he's a bit past it now, so he went for a Jag S-Type and is quite content :)

I'm popping back over their's on Saturday- last time my dad commented he didn't hear me arrive... now I've got my new zorst on, I don't think he'll have the same problem!

got it today. even if im going to my mates he says uve had that bloody car now for 4 months u must get bored of it now??????

I am a dad, and a grandad 6 times over, and I have just bought a Zed after driving my son James's TT manual. I have got a 93 TT import which was automatic, and we converted it to manual 2 weeks ago, bloody fantastic. It's the best fun Ive had for the money I paid...........Its at Zedworld currently and I can't wait to get it back. My kids thinks it marvelous that I bought one.Live life and stay young.....Old Zed
