Can't believe this has happened after the time and money i've put into her this year.

 

This morning on the way to work in heavy rain I went over what i thought was a small puddle, but it turned out to be a deep hole. Two loud bangs as both passenger side wheels hit it. Got out , furious, and checked my new alloys for any damage, found some scratches but was too wet and dirty to examine further so got back in, drove 10 yards down the road, and then it got worse.

 

Suddenly there was some very nasty noises then the whole front suspension seemed to collapse . pulled over and found the whole front of the car sitting on the wheels and the front spoiler touching the ground.

 

Called a recovery vehicle to remove it and take it to nissan. 180 quid recovery charge later i'm on the phone to the co. council trying to remain calm as they explain the painfully slow procedure involved making a claim.

I won't have the assesment from nissan till monday, but it's going to be big. I've just had shocks , cambers and new track rod ends sorted last week and a full wheel alignment and tracking done 4 days ago.

 

 

So here I am zedless for the near future, and the money I was going to spend on goodies is going on repairs, 'til I get a claim up and running :cry: :cry: :cry:

Claim update:

managed to get a meeting with a council official at her office today to go through the details. "firstly, mr. daniels I would like to thankyou for reporting the potholes, we are very grateful and rely on the public to report them as we cannot possibly know where every pothole is, even though we do regular spotchecks. This one wasn't reported before by the way :x: ".......... :hurl: .

 

After 15 minutes of looking at all the photos, evidence, estimate, and signed witnesses, She gave me every reason as to how the county council may not be responsible...Surprise surprise.

 

I told her I wasn't accepting any of it, and asked to let me know of their decision as soon as possible, as I would be taking it to a higher authority.

I will have a decision tomorrow.....watch this space

I lost a tyre and also then found the wheel rim was bent when they tried to fit a new tyre. Obviously had to replace it and after that subitted a detailed and honest claim - they argued a few times with letters but paid out after about 6 months. Only claimed for half a tyre since it wasnt brand new any more. Wheel cost plenty though - try buying an odd one!

And nissan have informed me parts will take another couple of weeks to get from Amsterdam :confused:

no they supposed to have the bumper this week at some point.

really p'd off because ive been driving round in a hire car for the last 3 weeks 2 of them i didn't officially need it as my z was sat up ther doing bugger all :headvswal i really want it back next week, but i don't want them to rush it and mismatch the colour

really sorry to hear about that mick. i have a mate workin at nissan as a mechanic up here. he has been workin there a year on an apprentice and has only seen one zed in. it was a black 1990 if i recall correctly. hope everyhtin runs smoothly gettin the claim and also hope the car is back 2 you soon
