For anyone with the full game (GTR), I now have a test server running. It'll be running for most of the night in a race cycle of Monza, Barcelona, Enna and Anderstorp. 30 min practice, 30 min qually and 30 min race. If you find you can't join, it'll likely be because a race is in progress and you can only join the server in a practice or qually session.

:rofl: LFS is good for going sideways, but I find the tracks and cars to be uninvolving. Much less skill and concentration required in LFS, IMO.

 

The demo is very generous in as much as you can play online with it, but in order to get the interesting stuff (single seaters), it costs £24.

 

Personally, I'm glad to see so many of you enjoying playing a more involving driving game than Juiced / NFS / Burnout and all that ****. Now, hurry yourselves up and graduate to the real sim! ;) :tongue: :rofl:

The error dialogue doesn't really tell me much about the error itself, you'd need to click on the link to view the technical info. The second box, just click "yes to all" as it's just overwriting files that are already there, is this the second installation?

 

The old demo (from memory) only features the semi-pro mode and not the simulation mode. :(

The game won't even start, or crashes to the desktop. Why?

 

A small number of users having problems when "TuneUpUtilities" is installed. We recommend trying to uninstall the program to make the game run for now. - Another possible fix is to right click at the GTR.exe file, choose properties and then set the compatibility mode to Windows 2000. - Make sure you have the latest drivers for your motherboard, graphics card and sound card (including VIA drivers if appropriate). - Turn off or lower any overclocking of your CPU or GPU. - Install the game to the default location on your hard drive. I.e. - just answer "yes" to all install questions. - On some ATI configuration AGP - Fast Write needs to be set to "ON" instead of "OFF". After you activated AGP - Fast Write in bios, you have to activate it in Windows in the ATI driver (register smartgart), restart will be needed. TBH mate, I haven't a clue. I downloaded the demo when it was first released (actually, before it was officially released *cough*) and bought the full game as soon as I could, so haven't tried the V2 demo.
