I have the problem where there is no resistance in the lock when the key is turned, and you cant lock/unlock the door - does anyone know of a way to fix the plastic arm thats broken in a DIY fashion?

Any help or ideas welcome!

Thanks.

i had exactly the same problem try and get one off of one of the traders on here. but they might not split the handle.the bit that is broken is a see through yellow plastic arm connected to the back of the barrel. they get brittle over time and snap at the barrel end.

if you know someone that works in a machine shop they could probably knock you one up pretty easy or trusty superglue if you have all the bits for a temp fix

If you can find an old nissan Micra take the lock off one and hey presto they only need a bit of a file to make em fit . cost .... nil

Yep - its exactly as described - the plastic arm off the barrel. Tried a superglue fix but no luck - will have to see what I can come up with!

First post BTW (Been hiding in the shadows since getting a TT about 2 Months back)

I have just encountered the same problem as described. Since I was planning to fit an alarm/immobilizer with central locking, I figured this was as good a time as any. Problem solved and as a bonus if someone tries to force the locks to get in, they aren't going to get very far!

If the batteries do go flat in the remote I can always use the (somewhat less dignified) entry path through the trunk :o)

Food for thought me thinks....
