Posted October 19, 200519 yr Can i get your thoughts on what you think should happen to people who blatantly piss you around on group buys. I have a GB going for the car covers, now 3 + people are not responding to my PM's but are posting other threads etc so are just ignoring the GB. The GB can now not go ahead so 7 other people are left wanting, this is unfair to them and to the manufacturer who is expecting the order. What do you think should happen to these members as they are causing nothing but grief :headvswal :headvswal :headvswal
October 19, 200519 yr this happens on every car site there is simply only one way you will ever stop it. deposits or payment in full up front. there is nothing else you can really do mate
October 19, 200519 yr there is nothing else you can really do mate There is should be something like a strike system 2 and your out, this ain't funny it's people livelihoods were talking about here
October 19, 200519 yr I agree with the deposit or full payment upfront method. If you can't afford it now, wait.
October 19, 200519 yr What wheels have been put in motion on the group buy? Is it any different to not getting enough people interested in the first place? Or have you contacted the manufaturers to say I've got enough people and want to go ahead? What extra work/anoyance does it cause you? I think if someone commits to a group buy then cant (sometimes there are understandable reasons) then they should be band from future group buys and maybe the membership discount form the traders.
October 19, 200519 yr but you cant ban someone from the club for that. its crap, and i fully agree with you fella, but its much better that you take names only after they make a deposit payment, then if they back out, they lose it. this solves it all. the club is not based on traders, and as such you cant justify removing people from the club if they back out of a deal thats offered as an extra to the club..

I wasn't saying that, I said ban them from group buys and from trader discounts
October 19, 200519 yr Dragged naked behind a car at 80, across a field of broken glass...Then made to sit through 7 days of non stop Coronation Street ..loud with headphones on... Just my opinion mind but deposit up front may also work...

October 19, 200519 yr i wasnt commenting on your post mate, i thought chris said 2 strikes and out ? :slap: sorry

You say they cant be banned, why not if you breach club rules you can be banned, what's different ?
October 19, 200519 yr is it the club rules about bulk buys then ? i honestly havnt read them, so not sure. if it's in the rules, then yeah, but personally, i still think deposit is best, no one especially the traders get let down then
October 19, 200519 yr is it the club rules about bulk buys then ? i honestly haven't read them, so not sure. This is something that needs looking into within the constitution IMO there should be a club rule about this kinda thing. Will bring it up :) Think payments up front/deposits are the way forward like you say though :)
October 19, 200519 yr Backing out is 110% fine Mart it's when they wont even reply and hold up the GB for everyone i'm on about Just ignoring people and not letting them know whats going on is plain ****ing rude, I wish people would have some back bone
October 19, 200519 yr Another thing i see done mate, is as people add to the list, the payment situation is also publicly shown example chris.....paid t-pot ...not paid chunk....paid
October 19, 200519 yr How about revert their status back to Registered User therefore stopping them from all future group buys (unless they resubscribe). This would probably have to go in the constitution or AUP... Steve :) '93 UK TT Manual [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

October 19, 200519 yr At the very least a deposit should be collected I think before goods are even ordered.
October 19, 200519 yr This does make group buys a pain as I've found out in the past. It just lets down others who have paid up and it's grief for anyone who's put effort in to organise a GB. How's about a sticky post where anyone who runs a group buy and faces people who are messing about can add them to the list, so that future group buy organisers can see if people have messed about before and ask for deposits upfront? Vijay

Vijay yeh i know that one :o sorry again mate
October 19, 200519 yr no bud, I'm talking about people who don't bother telling you they want out. It's so annoying when they can't even be bothered to answer PM's/emails!!!! Vijay
October 19, 200519 yr Anyone who messes other club members about like this needs some sort of *****cking! It's people's passion and / or livelyhood they're mucking up and the goodwill in this club is so good.
October 19, 200519 yr Chris Got to say it mate. Ive always paid you up front. I other people want something they should put some or all of it down 1st. Its asking for trouble just putting names on a list.
