on a 2+2 from the cat back, are they the same? any differences between the jap and UK spec pipes?

I've been looking and can see no differences. Some performance exhausts are turbo only but the mid price ones £300-£400 seem to be fine for both.

standard issue (Nissan) NA ehausts have bigger centre boxes than their TT bretheren. The standard TT exhaust has a restrictor ring in each pipe in the centre section, the NA does not.

 

All are interchangeable bits. You can fit a TT exhaust onto a NA and vice-versa.

 

So if you want a slightly louder NA exhaust, replace the centre bit with a TT version but remove the restrictor rings. It's louder as the centre box is less silenced (smaller).
