I'm going to have a look at some rims later on, they are 18 x 7in. Not sure if they'd be too narrow as tyre size would be 215 width max IIRC.

yes! thats smaller than stock, would look way too silly imho, thats even if they fit

Stock are 7.5" with 225 tyres on the front, and 8.5" with 245 tyres on the rear (UK spec, 7.5" all round with Jap spec)

You really dont want to go any narrower than that. I believe the most common tyre width on 18" alloys for the Zed rear are 255 or 265 wide.

thanks, I know they are narrower than stock but wondered if there is any technical issues with having narrower ones on.

apart from a drastic lack of stability and grip in all conditions it would be like puting trainer wheels on an f1 car

lol ok, think I'll forget about this then

thanks for the advice guys.

I had 225's all round on my Z. Really could have done with more tyre on the road once Id finnished with the mods. But as a stock ish setup (exhaust, air filter) they gripped the road fine.

did you have 18in rims?

I'm not planning on any power or cosmetic mods. Just a rear spoiler and probably a stainless exhaust with a stock quad pipe look.

cheers.

Love the Karmann Ghia in your rides. One of my dream cars.
