What a load of codshit! Just done an insurance quote for the missus at Diamond and Sheila's Wheels, and norwich union can beat them both by under 100 quid!

My girlfriend tried to insure her MINI with Diamond and went with Tesco because they where more than £100 cheaper too.

If there was such a thing as men only insurance,,,the daft burn your bra brigade would have a hairy fit..isn't women only insurance sex discrinination???

They said we don't normally insure big sports cars, we tend to insure smaller cars. I said though I'm a woman, shouldn't make a difference, they just weren't interested I haven't bothered with sheilaswheels

This is not the same thing as saying that all women are better drivers than men, although many people, by the look of some insurance company advertisements, seem to think that that is exactly what it means. In fact it simply shows that, on average, a woman between the ages of 20 and 65 who drives a car will have had fewer accidents than a man of the same age, driving the same car. The data is drawn almost exclusively from insurance company statistics.

Which I'm very sure is true... BUT surely the data would be seriously comprimised by the fact that many women's accidents will be recorded as men's since the men are the policy holders (i.e. women are named drivers on their partners insurance)!!!

You can make stats say anything.

Also what they dont say that 3 times as many accidents are caused by women doing the school run between the hours 8-10 and and 3-4.

 

However they dont get asked are you going to take children to school in your car? ;) And then bump up the insurance if they are. However, they do put up insurance if you smoke or drink :confused:

Fair comment, however not really the issue I was starting a debate on, more that they advertise for women only, with the selling point being that they offr much cheaper quotes, when they blatantly don't!
