K4$H - WOW. ReZpect man. You got 500 RWHP

Oh man, nice one. Didn't realise you had all that work done to your car. You must have 50 grand's worth of mods on your car. What do you do for a living cos I'm gonna change profession! biggrin.gif

For those who haven't seen his list of mods, (I can't believe you aren't telling everyone about this list!), here they are: http://www.twinturbo.net/cgi-bin/ttnet_directory.pl?forum=main&user_id=42676

Oh man, thats one hell of a list. I've got a couple of questions though:

1) Is your power figure from a dyno or is it theorhetical (sp?). Got dyno sheets that you can post?

2) Do you have all the mods done at Silvia (I know your car is there quite often and that little lot must have taken 25 years to fit!)

3) What NOS system did you go for?

4) What make of injectors did you go for? And did you get 555s first and then they ran out of steam or did you go straight to 750s? Does it cause any idling problems?

5) You wrote "bigger intercoolers". Any more details? I want to get some but I'm worried about lag. What make are yours and do they give big lag? Is it a large centre intercooler or large twins?

6) WTF is a "AP Racing paddle clutch" anyway? Excuse the ignorance but I've got an auto! Never heard of a paddle clutch before

7) Where did you buy your T28s? From UK or abroad because I'm looking at these and they seem a fair bit cheaper in the US.

How long have you had the car for btw?

Anyway, well done mate. I see from ttnet this morning that you are going to 700 rwhp soon (can't find the thread anymore though frown.gif). You're gonna have to give me a ride in your car. You're in London aren't you? We should meet up some time soon. ReZpect m8.

Hairsy I was told that Andy Elephant paid £1500 each for them manifolds[GULP]£3000 for two manifolds,I was told that the stock ones were restricting the bhp.

'tis true Iain me old fruit bat. Weak point on the Z is the Barry Manifolds...only learnt this too late otherwise I'd have had mine polished and ported by SE!!! Arse!!! wink.gif

Considering Andy spent over 80k on his car i aint suprised he spent that on manifolds. But as far as i am aware, he had SE make custom downpipes which cost £500 - £1000 for the pair, i think this is wot ur talkin about as i am sure i have seen his manifolds and as far as i remember theyre stock, - i think i wud hav picked up on it if they werent. I had 2 have these made too.

No Kash it was the manifolds, you cant see them very well if you just look under the hood wink.gif.

blitz.jpg

Hmmmmmmm fair enuff. But i didnt look under his hood. I saw his lump out of the car.

Definitely does have manifolds - and if you ask nicely he might make you some !

Does anyone know what Andy's car has made on the rollers ?

Yeah, SE's catalogue for the 300 has it displayed last time i saw. It produced 600! - without nitro.

80k to produce 600bhp =SE

4k to produce 500bhp = me biggrin.gif

Ok that is a lie, maby a little more wink.gif

well hell alot more what am i on about.

To be fair, Andy has spent money on more than just the engine.

Having said that Waz, if it was me then I'd probably go down your route of power rather than vents and spoilers all over the place.

Mind you, I bet he hasn't got a pink gearknob like yours !!!!

lol! - u know thats not entirely true. But i know hes spent in excess of 15k with them though over the years. The rest on th car/bodywork etc etc.

I have to say when i saw that car the first time i couldent take my eyes of it. Then after staring at it for about 5 minutes you realize how badly the rear spoiler has been put on ect. But you have to admire him cause it is one hell of a car.

Andy's is the renamed "600zx" isn't it?

I followed it into Stanta Pod the very first time I went.. his exhausts made my renault vibrate! smile.gif I can remember thinking "I always wanted one of those, could never afford to insure one though"..

Oh look, it's one year on, and I own one biggrin.gif

Shame it hasn't got 600bhp though hey! smile.gif

Kash I did my research mate it was 600 brake before the manifolds were fitted wink.gifthat was the problem,he could not get anymore power because the stock manifolds were restricting the gases wink.gif.

O and Wazza dont be silly £80,000 on tuning and mine was £4000 biggrin.gif £80,000 in total.

lol ian That car kept SE in buisness for about two years, so you can draw your own conclusions.

Where did i hear that that car actually runs like a complete dog?(being serious now i was told it was not to good over the 1/4 mile)

???

Well Warren on a serious note 600 brake on a rear wheel drive car how can you expect to have a good 1/4 mile time wink.gifI bet mine would beat it in a 1/4 mile. But once we got to about 100mph then he would pull away from me like I was changing me fu***n spare wheel LOL! like I did to Johnny boy.IMHO! if you want to get a bhp figure like that then tune a Skyline 4wd with that power = THE BOLLOCKS biggrin.gif.

------------------

blitz.jpg

Yep ur right, he bent a rod on the 1/4 mile cos they just couldnt handle the power. Hes replaced them with billet aluminium ones i believe.

Weel IAN there are loads of 10 seconds 300s in the states and alot of them have more than 600 bhp on the wheels.

I was lead to believe that that car had stock blowers on it or just uprated stock blowers ?

hmm where have i seen all this? lol I cant remember but i think it was in a magazine

LOL! Warren mate dont believe all you read in mags biggrin.gifas most of the time they like to spice up the article they are writing about wink.gif.

------------------

blitz.jpg

LOL so let me get this right then the The magazine spiced up the White zed that we are talkign about from SE by saying it has stock turbos? Lol i dont think we are even on about the same car lol.

Re the 1/4 mile and the Elephant car, I've been at the pod a couple of times when he's been there when he hasn't done better than a 14. However, the car really was running bad (I was behind him in the queue and my front was covered in crap from his exhaust!).

However, that was pre re-build so I imagine that's sorted.

On the times in the states, I think they tend to run on slicks with big bhp don't they ? I've only ever seen Andy running on 285/30 19 road tyres which probably aren't really up to the job.

And has anyone else found Santa Pod to be really slippy on the start ? I reckon there's worse grip than on the road every time I've run there.

D

Ahhhh thanks hairsy so your the one who told me lol.

Nah the quikest zed in The jap street tyre series went 10.02 i think at 140mph or something, i know the one in the states from SGP went 10.42 at 145mph .

Well i think santapods surface sucks of the line. I never got any good 60foot times, but then again they did the autosport 0-100mph-0 test at the pod, so i guess they feel it is accurate enough.

Dave,

I bumped into Andy last week and he's now running 335's on the rear. "Still running in Engine" he said so no comment from him about improved pull away traction.

Those tyres look seriously wide smile.gif

EXCELLENT THREAD!!

This is what this forum is all about.

Hey Guys, is 500-600 HP not enough?

Go and have a word with JunAuto www.junauto.co.jp and have a look at their Z32 Bonneville. It did 419kmh/260mph!!!!

Engine approx 1000 HP!!!

jun1000hp300zx.jpg

Also a question for K4$H, what does your engine rev like with the aluminium flywheel? I bet it revs as quick as a bike!!

I skimmed approx 1KG off mine, now down to 9KG!!! DOH!!! Or 19KG with STD clutch & pressure plate on!!!

Regards
