Well it's been over 2½ years and 18 Op's since i had my accident and i have found out this morning that hardly any of them have worked!!

 

2 weeks ago i had a Tomogram (ancient CT scan) to see how my bones were healing/knitting, apparently i couldnt have a CT scan due to the amount of metal in my leg LOL and it would cause lots of reflections etc!

 

Today i got the results of the tomogram, and they couldnt of been worse, basically, the last 18 months (ish) of recovery have been a waste of time, as no bones have knitted to any others!

 

What this means is i have to undergo a quite big op again asap to put artificial bone around my femur (thigh bone) to strenghen it up again also, my surgeon wants to put some stuff in there to make it harden quicker (I did laugh and say i didnt want any viagra, he didnt think it was funny :) )but i cant remember what its called.

 

Soooooooo, basically, im now on the Urgent list for surgery, so, anything in the next 3 years then i guess!!! :(

Thats absolute poo mate, will this op make major changes / advances to the healing of your leg, because as frustrating as it is it may well be worth it!!

I hope they can do something with the next one mate, wouldn't be safe if you ended up in a wheelchair! So many of my mates in the Marines get fooked legs, and I've suffered pretty bad myself so have some idea how you must be feeling. Have they given you exercises to strengthen up all the connecting tissues or is it way past that? one of my mates who had a fooked knee that was beyond repair had to do lots of that. He went into civvy street on medical because of it , but he is actually able to do most things now after building the tendons and stuff up to support the knackered bones. Dave

Chunk buddy old pal, sorry to hear of this. You have always amazed me and others in the club of the way you are always having a laugh. You have such a mental positive attitude of whats happend. Most would give up :bow: . Ive an idea. Why dont you get them to put the new bone in your leg and if that doesn't work get them to give you a penis extension and a life time of viagra. You could then atleast say you have a walking stick :rofl: :rofl:
