Just started to notice my windscreen lifts sort of up and out (at the bottom in the middle) :headvswal when I shut the car doors. If I push the lower part of the windscreen I can push it out far enough for my wipers to move???!!??!

Only thing I done recently was removed the black plastic below the wipers for spraying and tidying up. When I went to refit these, a few of the poppers snapped (Im going to order some more from Nissan - probably at silly money!!). Surely the bottom of the windscreen is NOT held in by a few poppers that press the plastic trim onto the screen???

Is there something else thats wrong?

*EDIT* Whilst Im on the subject is there an easier way to take that lower plastic below the windscreen off *without* mullering and snapping all the poppers? Do you need special tools or just prise em out?

Screen should be bonded, so no, the plastic is not holding it there.

Poppers have plastic screws in the middle, unscrew these, small screwdriver gently prises the popper out. Easy to get wrong as the thread on the plastic screw can screw up(boom boom). Levering the screw itself while unscrewing can help.

so it sounds like bonding at bottom has gone - Do I need a professional to come and rebond it (like autoglass?) or is it something I could do myself?

Cheers

Matey, i had a screen replaced and in my opinion its definatly a professional job.

Very hard to get the screen out, let alone put one in.

Best bet - professional.

After an accident has caused the screen to disintegrate - the insurance company normally foots the bill.
