Halfords rubbish number plates

I had some new number plates made up at halfords today. Why why why did I bother, I KNEW they would be crap, but I still went there, and guess what, they were crap. The lettering looks like it was applied by a twelve year old. Come to think of it, it WAS. I paid £3 extra per plate for 'carbon' lettering and it looks crappier than kids lick'n'stick tatoos.

AND they cost £30, but I'd asked the guy to do them he took several hours to set up the stencils and I didn't have the heart to say they look crap mate after he'd finished.

Now I need to get proper ones done somewhere.

That's what I've been looking for - but getting endless cherished plate companies. Hopefully they will do the square-style plates. I wonder if it's legal to have square plates at the front.

hope so, cos mine are square at the front!

Do you get pulled for having motorcycle size plates? I'm sure I've read on here that you can have weird sizes if the bumper was not manufactured to fit a standard plate. I'll go and have a look on the DVLA site...

National flags...OK, the crest of a FOOTBALL TEAM!!! is NOT allowed. That would be NAUGHTY...certain imported vehicles can have smaller lettering... 'The vehicle's construction/design cannot accomodate standard size number plates ', well I guess the standard front bumper doesn't really come into that category, so I should in theory have a standard front plate. Do people REALLY get fined £1000 for having the wrong plates?

I've driven past quite a few policemen and cars in the past couple of weeks and haven't been stopped yet.

Tell them John at Chikara Cars in Johnstone sent you. Or John at BlackOut Tints in Johnstone.

Had loads of plates done there. Usually get UK front, Jap rear.

Jap rear is a feww mm's out but so close you wouldn't notice.

If you want it exact - just give them the measurements.

No stencils or stick on numbers - all done on computer then printed onto vinyl strip, then applied to acryllic plate.

Guaranteed straight and accurate.

I work for a garage and it is ok to have square plates front and rear. Motorcycle plates on cars are illegal although I have a small one on my GTi-R and havent been stopped ;) Let us know if you are struggling to find some I'm sure I can get you some made up in Jap size and post them onto you, they'll be about £20ish I should think.
