my car has been in the bodyshop since last tuesday as some of you may know a t^^at in a pickup rammed me at a set of traffic lights 4 weeks ago.

i phoned them for a progress report today as i am fedup of driving around in the vw golf plus courtsey car only to find out they havent even started it yet as they still havent recieved the bumper from nissan :headvswal :headvswal

 

i said to the guy who assessed the damage they would have trouble as its a swb and they will probably have to import one and i also said if they do have trouble to let me know as i could probably source an aftermarket one cheaper and quicker for them :headvswal .

 

thing is ive missed my car so much ive been spending money on little extras for it....trouble is i dont know when im going to get it back :(

one of the best ways to clean aluminium or magnesium alloy is to use

 

a bar of soap and scotchbrite brings them up like new. ;)

update!!!

called the bodyshop today and nissan still haven't got my rear bumper in the country!!

so they said hopefully :headvswal by the middle of next week they will have it..

 

so they would have had the car for about a month without even doing any work on it :headvswal :headvswal

That's extremely galling. Sorry to hear it mate, I'd be seriously gutted if I was without mine for that long... plus I don't have a fallback so I'd be completely scuppered as well (my insurance only gives me a courtesy car for the first week because mines classified as a "grey" import I think).

well my insurance company has given me a car. i hope its not the same sort of policy as its costing £76 a day so far and it looks like im going to have it another 2 weeks :headvswal

I'm with Norwich Union Direct, so if you're not with them I'd imagine you're probably OK. TBH I think they would have told you when they gave you the car anyway (hopefully that isn't showing too much faith in insurers).

Youch!! Now that's a bill you wouldn't want to get landed with. Don't think you'll have any problems though to be honest. Hope the bits turn up soon.
