Idle Question

Can someone please tell me what my auto 91 NA Z should idle at when warm and in gear? currently it is a little rough round 600 when warm, 1000 when cold.

how do I adjust the idle?

Breed777 before you tinker with the idle clean out your throttle bod's wink.gif then if it has not improved, ajust the idle.

Yeah disconnect your battery while you do it. Reset your ECU. For a while it would compensate for the lack of air flow through the throttle boddies and all of a sudden its breathing well and it takes too much air.

Good instructions for cleaning the throttle bodies and adjusting the idle are at www.z-car.net

I know this is for the turbo, but I think the method will be pretty damn similar.

what should the ztt idle at? mine's idling at around 1000,900 since i cleaned out the air filter which was dirty as hell

Kszx - reset your ecu to reset the idle - simply disconnect the battery for 30 mins then reconnect but carefull your keys aren't in the car and you have the alarm fob handy incase it goes off - some alarms automatically lock the car doors when reconnected and if your keys are in there then.....

If this doesn't sort it let me know cos there's other routes too wink.gif

Andy
