had my TT decatted and there was no need to drop the transmission

I got my decats from PHNW for my NA, no need to drop the transmission and pretty good fit as well.

thanks the guy doing it told me he would take it off and iff poss knock them out ? if not fit down pipes

On an NA the cats are one long pipe from the manifold to the silencer, not sure whats meant by fitting downpipes? you have not bought decat pipes for a TT by mistake have you?

havnt bought any thing yet its off for a service then he told me he would knock them out ? pass he says he can do it if they are not to knackered ?

yes that sound right and he also dose the mot and said it will still pass and if he canot knock them out he will replace the pipes but u say it dosnt need down pipe then its a different type of pipe so i no what to ask for if i need it thanks

thats where im stuck how meany r there and if the cat light comes on how do i no what cat to have at where are the pre cats are they hard to do

all i want is my cat light to go out and not to damage the engine so best way im servicing it and having it tuned this week

Usually just called a decat pipe, if hes doing the MOT he should know what hes doing so just sit back and let him do the work.

If the cat light is on its more likely to be that you are not getting a spark on one cylinder and it is dumping fuel into the cat causing it to overheat and then the light comes on.

top man i thought it was missing thats y i got it in for a full service so it might be that then and with a tune as well might be sorted u never no the light only come on when i try to go fast so i go slow for now not good in a zx

Got there in the end, its usually the wiring or connector to the coil pack or injector, best to start with cleaning the connectors, you wont believe how dirty they get if they have not been cleaned in a while.

I dont live too far from you. Who are you using to service the 300zx.

I have a '90 300zx TT auto JDM.

Cheers

Marc
