Is it just me or do these cars have the most stupid and illogical ventilation control ever devised? All I want to do is direct air on to the windscreen without having the A/C going. I have pressed the ECON button but it does not work. I press the AUTO button and all i get is air from the dash vents. You can't even shut these off. I ask you WHY!!!!!!! Its a series 1 if that makes any difference.

the heater controls really get on my tits

Same here! I just don't want the A/C on because it makes a horrid sound and uses a lot more juice. I have to put it on for a sec until the screen clears and then turn it off. I wait 10 mins or so and trhe screen mists up again so I have to put it on again......................................

have to be honest, very rare i ever need the demister, there is a link somewhere, saying which direction the vents work at what temp

you obviously have a series 1 car pre 92 after that series 2 300s were fitted with much better heater controls, where you can actually direct air flow to where you want it,buy a 93 onwardd model and you will be fine :D

some people have done a series 2 upgrade although apparently it doesnt always work you would need a fair few parts to do it to ;)
