I have noticed that a few owners remove the aircon from their cars.

 

Why? does it really use that much power?

PMFSL!! :rofl: :rofl: :rofl: :rofl: It's amazing what a little power to weight watchers shake can do!!! On a Z statistics show that if you loose a stone in weight compared to the weight of the car you can loose 0.73 seconds off your 0-60time!! :D

Personally unless you're going for full stripped out race spec then it's a stupid idea IMO :nelson:

 

The difference in performance will be negligible as these cars have a clever device that turns off the a/c when you give it some serious welly anyway and the weight saving makes no difference unless you remove every other comfort aiding device (like seats, interior trim etc ;) )

 

You'd also limit the number of potential buyers should you wish to sell the car later - anyone doing some research would know the car comes with a/c so many buyers may be put by it not being there. It's a comfortable GT car afterall so such luxuries would be expected.....

 

Anyway a/c is pretty much an essential extra for cars now and I for one would not buy any car (zx or otherwise) without it.

Absolutely, I wouldn't buy a car without aircon. My BM doesn't have it and I'm sick of sweating a lot when the sun comes out :)
