custom sub box, amp problems

has anyone managed to make a custom sub box for the boot? I made one today for a 12" sub, fitted in the space on the left side nicely but it's a bit rough around the edges (i'm no carpenter) so i'll probably cover it in carpet soon. Amp fitted nicely underneath in the foam compartment.

Just wanted to see what other peoples installs were like.

I've also got a problem with my amp, it's got 4 RCA's-in for channels 1-4 but no matter which way i connect the RCA's from the stereo the sub seems to act as a speaker with mid and high range. I thought subs were only suppost to output bass. I've also twiddled all the buttons and knobs but there's not been much difference.

The amp says it's bridgeable and i've connected the wires to the sub to the + on channel 1 and the - on channel 4

Can anyone help cause it sounds crap and i don't know what i'm doing.

there could be a setting switch on the amp that allows you to have it as you say like a speaker, or bass only.

it's likely to be a 3 position switch

its got loads of switches on it and i've played with them all but still getting mid and high range through the sub.

is there anything along the lines of "low pass" on your amp! what make and type is it btw! give me a better idea? ;)

Sounds daft this, but are you sure you connected it to the sub out on your head unit and not the pre-outs!?!? Other than that, does your head unit have sub out settings? If so, try using the hu's LPF :smw:

If I Were You I Would Move The Amp To A More Well Ventillated Area. Don't Trust The Overheat Protection That The Amp Has. This Amp Could Generate Quite A Bit Of Heat That Will Fry The Circuits. As For Your Sub Problem If Your Box Is Not Completely Sealed Then It Will Sound Crap. Make Sure All The Gaps Are Sealed By Using A Silicon Sealant. Also The Box Needs To Be Perfectly Matched To The Sub For The Inner Space, Go And See Your Nearest Audio Advisor For Info On This.

Hope This Info Helps You Out In Any Way.
