Iain me old nutter looney Z monster owner...you don't have call waiting activated on your line do you? Me Bro uses Freeserve I think and he said that everytime someone tries ringing it knocks him off! mad.gif

Hey yeah! Fuck it! Now I know what has probably been knocking me off...BT tossers! I never used to get knocked off until I had that arse BT answerphone activated. Now my MSN goes West constantly and I too get knocked off quite frequently! Noticed that you have BT answer drone aswell Macca...right that fucker is getting cancelled straight away, we hate it anyway as we like to screen our calls!

Iain mate, your lucky to get that on Freeserve. They knock u off automatically after allegedy 2 hours (more like 1). Most ISP's do. Change to madasafish, its no nonsense, pay as u go, or 11.99 a month. 4 hours till they knock u off and much, much faster than most others.

Cheers Roy

PS I'm still alive!!

yeah some ISP's boot you off after 1,2 whatever hours, NTL do it after 2. Just set you dial up connection thing to reconnect if it bothers you that much.

If it is call waiting you can set a directive in the modem settings to not disconnect if it loses the carrier signal.

you enter s=(0-255) where the number is the amount of tenths of a second it will wait if it looses the carrier. Without the brackets eg s=55

The default is 14. 1.4 seconds, up this and it will combat call waiting.

Jezz.
