Evening

 

Did my first ever trackday on Wednesday at Donington in my S13. What an amazing day - loved every minute of it.

 

I was so impressed how my car handles and performed through the day :bow: I had a 20 minute tuition from an old grumpy geyser but learnt loads and got better through the day.

 

Has anyone done Donington before? - its a lovely flowing circuit and blasting down Craner Curves at 100mph is a feeling like nothing else, the whole track felt really suited to my S13. The car had no problems keeping up with experienced drivers in Elises, S2000s, etc

 

They opened up the full GP Circuit, with the chicane followed by two hairpins in a row at the end of the lap. What a brake killer lol! Totally destroyed my pads by the end of the day and had to call it a day when the pads wore out hehe

 

The car did 120 track miles and didn't miss a beat til the brakes finally gave way lol :p Had to throw it sideways through Esses to slow the fooker down, pulled off straight after that :D

 

My full tank of petrol that I arrived with lasted 98 miles!! :D:D Lucky there's a petrol station on site.

 

I've definately got the bug now, and can't wait for the chance to go again. I'll post a few more pics up when I get the CD off my mate Nick :duffer:

Nice one Pete,yes me done Donington as they say,Caterhams,Vectra BTC,some great corners,technical too,remember once spending 9 hours there,drove home at 50mph totaly knackerd,mentaly and physicaly,i slept for ten hours when got home :D Would be great to do it again,maybe an event organiser on here could look into this ;)

 

PS You had the engine and other stuff sorted now mate!

Not yet mate, been waiting on crank, bearings, etc from various traders on sxoc. Got a huge pile of bits blocking up a corner of Z-Tech :D Wish some of our traders did S13 parts, actually I'm sure they do :p

 

Yeah it was knackering hehe, my arms and legs still ache :D

Thats awesome mate, I'm itching to do another one too. It's another world to driving on the road isn't it? Dave

I was supposed to do Donington in ovember, but i wont have a car on the road to do it now!! :(
